Here’s our fantasy premier league GW33 tips article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. This week it’s slightly different in format in that 8/10 managers used their wildcards and that is what were are focusing on.  The 10 managers in the article have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

THE 10 MANAGERS STATS

This season we welcome back 4 of last seasons managers who were the subject of our article. We add to that a new 6 managers. Stats of these managers are unbelievable and every bit as impressive as last season

1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 10 managers in the last 3 seasons is 2,963

2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 30 times playing)

3. All 10 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons

GAMEWEEK REVIEW

A good week for the top 10 FPL managers. 7/10 had green arrows.

The average score of the managers in GW32 was 58 compared to the game average of 48. That’s 10 points and 21% above the game average score. High score of the 10 was 79. The low score was 42. A high spread of 37 even for an average scoring gameweek.

The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw an improvement of rank to 180k compared to 203k in the last gameweek. An average rank improvement of 23k. The best overall rank is 28k and the lowest 532k.

The average total points are 1,849

The average team value stayed pretty much the same at to £103.7m

If you’re interested my score was pretty ordinary at 50. It resulted in a 6k red arrow to 31k. I had a higher score than only 2 of the other managers. I’m ahead in OR terms at the moment of 8 of the 10 managers. My team value has increased to £102.9m. My total points are 1,906 pts. You can see my early thoughts on the FFGeek team article for GW33.

WILDCARD TEAMS

8/10 of the managers I follow wildcarded in GW32.  Only 1 had used their free hit and we show you that team below.

In order to have 10 managers who wildcard we parachuted 2 managers in who also have the last 3 years top 10k stat to give us a round 10. Neither of those 2 had used their free hit.

Ryan, Lowton and Morgan are in 9/10 FPL managers teams

Alonso is in 6/10 FPL managers teams

Duffy, Mee, Tarkowski and Smalling are in 3/10 FPL managers teams

Mustafi is in 2/10 FPL managers teams

GK/DEFS BY TEAM

Man Utd and Burnley GK/Defs are represented 15 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Brighton GK/Defs are represented 13 times in the 10 FPL managers team

Leicester GK/Defs are represented 10 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Chelsea defences are represented 9 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Arsenal GK/Defs are represented 3 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Southampton GK/Defs are represented 2 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

MIDFIELDERS

Salah is in 10/10 FPL managers teams

Willian is in 9/10 FPL managers teams

Son is in 8/10 FPL managers teams

Gudmundsson is in 7/10 FPL managers teams

Gross is in 4/10 FPL managers teams

FORWARDS

Aubameyang is in 9/10 FPL managers teams

Vardy is in 7/10 FPL managers teams

Lukaku is in 4/10 FPL teams

 THE TOP 10K OVERALL RANK VS THE FPL MANAGERS

There’s now a huge difference in the top 10k teams and the 10 managers teams as you can see below.  According to FPL discovery here’s the chip stats on the top 10k

60% have used their 2nd WC

30% have used their triple captain

18% have used their bench boost

Crucially 69% have used their free hit which as you know from my free hit lost team is a major disadvantage.

THE COMBINED TOP 10 FPL MANAGERS TEAM

This is the illustrative combines team for the top 10 managers if you like. It’s cost is around £105.0m.

 The highest ranked manager of the 10’s wildcard team

This was one of the substituted in managers who’s 5k overall and finished in the top 10k the 3 previous seasons.  He has the FH, BB and TC all intact

The 1 wildcard team where the free hit has already been used

The blue squiggly “circle” is the 3 Burnley players needed for GW35 who have a DGW 34.

The red squiggly circle is the 3 players who have a GW35 game and 2 with an anticipated DGW37 (3 Arsenal) who could be benched in DGW34 so he could have 11 players with 2 games in DGW34.  However he also included Robertson (in black) so at least 2 players will only have 1 gameweek in DGW34 subject to further transfers obviously.  I suspect Aubameyang will become Kane at some stage.  I’m surprised he didn’t use a GW35/DGW37 GK such as Fabianski though.
