THE BANDWAGONS

These are the 5 most transferred IN players so far in the gameweek.

Stats definition:

DGW34, DGW37, BGW35 – Here I positively say whether they have a DGW34, a fixture in the blank 35 or in DGW37. If nothing is stated it means they don’t have a double or a fixture in the blank.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE gw33 transfer tips

Kane

Kane came back from injury earlier than expected with a 16 minute spell off the bench v Chelsea.  To me he didn’t look 100% but given his positive words about wanting to play it seems definitely feasible he could be starting in GW33 away to the worst defence in the league of Stoke.

In the 7 games before the injury at Bournemouth he scored 6 goals plus 1 assist such was his form.  He also gets bonus points with 27 to date.  No other player has more.  That does seem to be a function of 2 returns in 1 game though as when he only gets the single return of a goal or assist he’s only got bonus on 2 of 7 occasions.

Kane has  a DGW34 and a DGW37.  He’s sure to be a captain  and triple captain favourite in DGW37.  However in DGW34 he has Man City (H) and Brighton (A).  Now given the Man City fixture will he not be the captain favourite.  Granted they may have won the league by then and could turn up with Zinchenko, Diaz and  Adarabioyo in the team especially as Pep’s selection is probably not going to upset anyone with a nailed top 4 now.  Aubameyang looks to be the captain favourite this week.   So is he then essential given that he blanks in GW35 and may not be a captain issue until GW36.  That’s the question.  It’s a question I don’t know the answer to btw.

Aubameyang

5 goals and an assist in his first 6 games plus penalty duties is a pretty handy FPL place to be in for the former Dortmund player.  The added FPL bonus of being inelgible for the Europa League and Arsenals good fixtures all adds up to a pretty attractive package.

No DGW34 but 2 games in GW37 as well as a game in the blank GW35.

This week though he looks like he could be the captain favourite for the home game against a seemingly helpless Southampton defence.

34 Newcastle (A)
35 West Ham (H)
36 Man Utd (A)
37 Burnley (H)
37 Leicester (A)

Vardy

On the surface it all looks great for Vardy.  2 goals in his last 2 games.  He’s started 31 of the 32 fixtures often playing 90 minutes.  He’s scored 15 goals and 2 assists and returned in a healthy 16 of the 31 games.  He’s also a pretty good price and has a DGW34 and an a DGW37 which are pretty good fixtures as well.  He also has pens.  He’s no bonus slouch either with 20.  What’ s more in single return situations he’s got some sort of bonus on 8 of 15 occasions which is pretty impressive.

So what’s the catch.  The catch is that his underlying stats are terrible.  Well the last 3 seasons he’s comfortably outperformed them  so if you’re comfortable with that then he’s the complete package.  On a lesser note he’s also only got 1 double figure FPL point haul and that was GW1.

38 Spurs (A)

Milivojevic

7 of his 9 goals have come from the penalty spot.  No team has been awarded more penalties than Palace and no player has scored more this season than Milivojevic.  If you don’t need a player with DGWs and think he can continue getting penalties then go for it.

33 Bournemouth (A)
34 Brighton (H)
35 Watford (A)
36 Leicester (H)
37 Stoke (A)
38 West Brom (H)

Son HM

If you notice after the celebrations of Alli’s 2nd goal Eriksen berating Son for not only not passing to Alli to score but also shooting when he could have set up Lamela then you know why Son is such a great FPL asset.  He is a selfish goal scorer which is what FPL managers love.

He has a great record and great underlying stats.  The return of Kane will end him playing as striker but it may also cause some gametime problems.  That could be an early subbing but it could also be a benching if Lamela is preferred.  Certainly it was Son who left the field early for Kane.  Also with Moura and Lamela competing for his place could he be rested before the FACup semi for the 2nd game of DGW34.

THE SINKING SHIPS

These are the 5 most transferred OUT players so far in the gameweek.

 Firmino

I think this is more a function of the fact that he hasn’t got any double gameweeks and that FPL managers will be holding Salah as well rather than any commentary on form.  27 starts plus 3 as sub for 14 goals and 8 assists is a decent return.  27 bonus points is the highest in FPL equal with Harry Kane.  He’s been explosive and consistent with 14 returning games and 7 double figure FPL point hauls.  The only negative apart from the lack of double gameweeks is the ordinary underlying stats although these have improved in recent weeks and he has shown the ability to over perform them in the past.

34 Bournemouth (H)
35 West Brom (A)
36 Stoke (H)
37 Chelsea (A)

Aguero

No need to go through his record here.  His Points per 90 mins says it all.  This is about an injury doubt for the weekend, no double in 34, City possibly winning the league in GW33 and the fitness of Jesus meaning a return to the job share prior to Jesus’s injury.  That job share could see an emphasis on the Champions League as he has had a decent run with Jesus recently injured which may make him more prone to rest related rotation

33 Man Utd (H)
34 Spurs (A)
35 Swansea (H)
36 West Ham (A)
37 Huddersfield (H)
37 Brighton (H)
38 Southampton (A)

Lukaku

How much of this is due to the fixture next or the return of Kane is a difficult one.

He has hit a decent run of form with 3 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 matches but probably more importantly 7 bonus points which has been his nemesis.  More impressively they have come on the back of 2 single  returning games.  His underlying stats in recent games have been terrible though and the Swansea GW32 game has been the first where they have been anything like acceptable.  His big advantage is the fixtures United have and the constant rotation by Mourinho of everyone but Lukaku which makes everyone else a risky pick.

Shaqiri

4 consecutive blanks now although he did look lively v Arsenal.  Tricky fixtures and no double gameweeks makes him a natural to sell at the moment

33 Spurs (H)
34 West Ham (A)
35 Burnley (H)
36 Liverpool (A)
37 Crystal Palace (H)
38 Swansea (A)

Wilson

7 consecurtve blanks now alongside some of the worst underlying stats you could possibly imagine.  Add to the fact that Defoe came on and scored in GW32 and it’s hard to not imagine that the end is near for the strikers starting position.  Add to that terrible fixtures for the double and you have a recipe which screams sell.

The Bandwagons Team

So this is a team from my alternate FFGeek teams of players with a DGW34 bench boost in mind.  I went for 1 defensive player from each team with a DGW34 that was the most transferred in and the same with the attacking players.  However I had a bundle of cash left over so the most transferred in midfielder in Son made the cut with the extra.  The team has been a disaster with a 913k OR somehow missing out on Salah.
