This article was written before Thursday’s Manchester derby match. Remember it’s their rank as a transfer target for this week. This can be affected by the next fixture. So a forward who’s next game is away to Chelsea will have their ranking diminished to some degree compared to someone who’s home to Swansea.

I’ve amended the format of the spreadsheet again to be more user friendly. Here’s the link to the google spreadsheet if you want to play around with it

Here’s the spreadsheet:

PLAYER COMMENTS

Hazard

15 goals and 8 assists for the season and 5 goals and 1 assist in his last 6 says alot.  The Chelsea LAM is in blistering form.  Whats more he totally nails the eye test running riot in recent games.  Completely secure in gametime with Chelsea not having been in Europe and also has pens.  The only negatives are if Chelsea win the title surprisingly by DGW37.  Also his underlying stats could be a little better for the returns.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Everton (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
West Brom (A) DGW37
Watford (H) DGW37
Sunderland (H)

Dele Alli

Rather overshadowed by his team mate at Crystal Palace but the Spurs AM is thriving in the 3-4-2-1 formation being more central and closer to Kane. Great at getting into the box and that makes him a constant goal threat even if not on the ball as much as Eriksen.  Only negative is that he could create more chances as I think the 9 assists flatters him somewhat.  Hard to see him being rested until Chelsea mathematically win the title and they’ve secured 2nd place.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H) DGW37
Leicester (A) DGW37
Hull (A)

Eriksen

If you hit enough shots from distance then 1 is bound to go in eventually and that was the case with Eriksen in the win over Palace on Wednesday.  No body has more assists than Eriksen and 8 goals is a pretty good return for the type of player he is.  Takes all set pieces.  In a great run of form with 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 6 games.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H) DGW37
Leicester (A) DGW37
Hull (A)

Coutinho

Scored a fantastic freekick against Palace and then singlehandedly tried to get them back in the game in GW34.  Although his team mate Firmino has more goals and assists Coutinho has returned better per minute.  Partial set piece responsibility and so often the creative force in the game.  Very good underlying shooting and creating chances stats too although a little too trigger happy from distance for my liking sometimes.  No DGW but fixtures are ok.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Watford (A)
Southampton (H)
West Ham (A)
Middlesbrough (H)

King

Probably the value player of the year as an FPL midfielder currently playing striker.  14 goals and 2 assists at a rate of 1 every 153 minutes is a fantastic return for such a cheap player.  No DGW but great fixtures

Sunderland (A)
Stoke (H)
Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)

Sanchez

You maybe surprised by the lowly ranking.  Any player with the next game of Spurs away is going to have his ranking affected as it’s certainly a less than ideal time to transfer a player in.  Sanchez’s rank also wasn’t helped by his poor recent form of 1 goal in his last 5 games.

His change of position from striker hasn’t helped his form although the new formation see’s him more central and close to Wengers randomly picked CF for that game.  Certainly the drop off in form is matched by a big drop off in his underlying shooting and creating chances stats.  That is a bit of an unfair comparison though because decent parts of the season have seen him as a striker.

He has had 1 similar lean spell this season with 2 returning games in 6 just before his 5 goal 2 game spell.  However that was when he was playing striker and the 2 games with 5 goals were against Bournemouth and Sunderland

However it will be a brave man who will go into at least the DGW36 without him as form or not he’s bound to be the big captain favourite.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Spurs (A)
Man Utd (H) DGW36
Southampton (A) DGW36
Stoke (A) DGW37
Sunderland (H) DGW37
Everton (H)

SANE

The City LAM  is almost here by default as he’s the only reliable starter at the moment for Man City in midfield.  Instinctively you’d go for Sterling and De Bruyne but they seem to have got a job share arrangement on the right flank.  Silva’s injury could improve the situation but he’s expected back for GW35.  Prior to last nights derby match Sane started 11 games with 4 goals and 2 assists.  I doubt even Messi started 11 consecutive games under the rotation mad Guardiola. Sane though is good value and his recent form and season returns for that price are good.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Middlesbrough (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Leicester (H) DGW37
West Brom (H) DGW37
Watford (A)

Firmino

With Mane injured Firmino has lost the CF spot to Origi although he was probably more of a false 9 than someone who played strictly between the width of the penalty box.  That hasn’t hindered his recent form with 3 goals and 4 assists in the last 7.  He is also in a club of 3 at the moment who have completed the “double double” of at least 10 goals and 10 assists in FPL.  Sanchez and Costa are the other 2.  No DGW is the main negative

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Watford (A)
Southampton (H)
West Ham (A)
Middlesbrough (H)

Tadic

With Hull next and 2 DGW’s coming up you may wonder why Tadic is ranked so low.  The reason is that his season returns and recent form have been pretty abysmal to say the least.  Only  the single 10 point +return all season which was followed by his recent form of 1 assist in his last 6.  To be fair there were a few tricky games in that run but it’s not exactly inspiring is it.  He is the creative force and does have some set piece responsibility but 3 goals and 7 assists for the season plus his recent run just isn’t good enough.  Unfortunately he is also in the hands of a pretty rotation happy manager as Nathan Redmond found out on Monday.  On the plus side he does have the 2 DGW’s and his underlying stats are pretty good offering  some hope that things could improve.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Hull (H)
Liverpool (A) DGW36
Arsenal (H) DGW36
Middlesbrough (A) DGW37
Man Utd (H) DGW37
Stoke (H)

Arnautovic

No DGW’s.  Appalling season returns.  1 returning game in his last 6 and ok underlying stats.  So how did he find his way here?  If you’ve got West Ham and Bournemouth next you’re always going to draw a crowd.  Apart from that he does have a good advanced position and can turn it on spasmodically.

West Ham (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Arsenal (H)
Southampton (A)

SQUAWKA UNDERLYING STATS

Here’s the 10 players underlying stats over the season. I’ve tried to group them in rough price ranges to make it easier to compare but it didn’t quite work so Coutinho is an unfair comparison to the 2nd group.
