fantasy premier league GW35 TRANSFER TIPS

Sterling

The only question about Sterling is how much gametime will he get to the end of the season?  If you’re getting him in on a free hit then you’re relying on Pep playing a strong team in the Swansea game as it’s the first home game after winning the title.  If you’re getting him as a normal transfer then you’re believing that Pep will still keep playing strong teams in the pursuit of records.  There’s still most points, goals scored, title winning margin and a lot more.

I dont really need to roll out the stats to prove the case but here’s a quick summary.  He’s started 25 games plus 4 as sub.  He’s scored 17 goals and 13 assists.  He’s returned a goal or assist in 19 of his 25 starts and he has 8 double figure FPL hauls.  The mind boggles at these stats.

35 Swansea (H)
36 West Ham (A)
37 Huddersfield (H)
37 Brighton (H)
38 Southampton (A)

Milivojevic

It’s incredible to think that the Palace penalty and direct free kick taker has got 3 goals (2 pens) and 2 assists in his last 4 games returning in all of them.  It’s rare to have someone who is a midfielder who is so cheap with that responsibility so he has been a find.  He defies gravity in an extraordinary way on his underlying stats so it’s just whether you believe he can keep it up.

35 Watford (A)
36 Leicester (H)
37 Stoke (A)
38 West Brom (H)

Zaha

The injury to Benteke saw Zaha play as a striker which continued after his goal v Bournemouth to keep Benteke on the bench and then score 2 v Brighton.  Hard not to see that continuing.

Over the season he’s mixed up playing as a forward in tandem with Townsend or Benteke or as part of a front 3.

He’s an interesting player stats wise.  He’s started 24 games plus 1 as sub and returned a goal or assist in 12 of those 25 games which is pretty good for the price.  His PP90 though is poor and that’s because the 3 bonus points he earned for his 2 goals  v Brighton were the first he’s got all season.  As you can imagine that means it was also his first double figure FPL point haul.

Given the fixtures and if he stays as a striker he seems to be a good GW35 Free Hit acquisition.  Even to the end of the season as the fixtures are excellent although he doesn’t have a DGW37

35 Watford (A)
36 Leicester (H)
37 Stoke (A)
38 West Brom (H)

Jesus

Jesus has started 15 games plus 9 as sub for 10 goals and 6 assists.  He’s returned a goal or assist in 13 of those games which is a pretty impressive stat although only managed 2 double figure FPL point hauls despite an OK 14 bonus

His minutes have been a problem.  When he’s started he’s been a bit of a sub magnet averaging around 70 minutes when playing and only reaching 90 minutes on 4 occasions.  However the Aguero injury which seems to rule him Aguero for the season after surgery means that he should start the remaining games.  Pep could play a false 9 such as Sterling though I guess.

35 Swansea (H)
36 West Ham (A)
37 Huddersfield (H)
37 Brighton (H)
38 Southampton (A)

Salah

Probably similar to Sterling really in that the only question is whether he starts the games and the minutes he plays with the UCL semi’s coming up after 35 and 36.  If Chelsea beat Burnley this week then that puts them 7 points behind Liverpool with Chelsea v Liverpool still to come.  Klopp may think this is a little too close for comfort to be relying on Ings and Solanke.

I won’t put up the stats this is all about gametime.  Just look at his PP90 which is backed up by him having the best underlying stats of any midfielder.

35 West Brom (A)
36 Stoke (H)
37 Chelsea (A)
38 Brighton (H)

THE SINKING SHIPS

These are the 5 most transferred OUT players so far in the gameweek.

Son HM

No fixture in GW35 and also on the subs bench for the first fixture in GW34 can’t have helped his case.  You would think that would guarantee him a start in the 2nd fixture.

So he does have 2 fixtures in DGW37 but does have competition for his place in Lamela and Moura.  His last 8 starts which were interspersed with 2 sub appearances averaged 67 minutes which is another issue.  However when on the pitch it’s hard to argue against him if you look at his PP90.

He started 24 games plus 8 as sub and returned a goal or assist in 11 which just below the 50% threshold of starts that you’d like.  However he is explosive with 6 double figure FPL point hauls and plays in an advanced position.  He is also a selfish shooting orientated player which may not always please the manager and team mates but is a great FPL trait.

It’s just the no game in 35 and gametime risk

37 Newcastle (H)
38 Leicester (H)

Mahrez

Another player with no game in 35 but a DGW37.  Again free hit transfers may distort this.

Mahrez has now blanked in his last 3 and in the Newcastle and Brighton games he posted appalling stats.  That improved v Burnley but the Southampton home game will be a major test for his owners.

Mahrez has started 29 games plus 2 as sub for 10 goals and 11 assists plus 18 bonus points.  He’s returned in 17 of those 29 starts which is a very healthy 59%.  He’s also had 5 double figure hauls so ticks the consistent and explosive box.

His underlying stats are poor but he has shown the ability to over perform them albeit not consistently

Recent form and the blank in 35 are the issues.

Lukaku

If Ben Foster hadn’t been his usual appalling self and not saved Lukaku’s header things could have been so very different, albeit not deservedly, for Man Utd.

I personally thought others had worse games than Lukaku but at his price and without a GW35 fixture he’s an easy target.

So far this season he’s started 32 games for 15 goals and 7 assists returning in 19 of those games which is a good 59%.  His bonus is improving but could be better at 17 and that hasn’t helped with only 3 double figure FPL point hauls.

No game in GW35 but a DGW37.

Vardy

Again like the others above no game in GW35 but  2 fixtures in GW37.

Vardy has scored in his last 4 fixtures none of which were pens so he’s in excellent form.  His underlying stats over the season have been poor but the last 3 games have been excellent all of which are good signs.  Vardy has consistently over performed his stats btw so you could sweep that under the carpet anyway if you choose.  He’s been consistent with returns in 18 of his 32 starts.  He’s only had the 1 double figure FPL point haul as he’s only had more than 1 return in that 1 game.  That btw was GW1.

Aguero

Announced today he had an operation on his knee which looks more aimed for the world cup than returning for the PL season.  Should give Jesus the starts for the rest of the season unless Pep, for some reason, wants to play a midfielder as a false 9.

35 Swansea (H)
36 West Ham (A)
37 Huddersfield (H)
37 Brighton (H)
38 Southampton (A)
