THE FPL ADVICE SITE POLLS.
Thanks to everybody who voted in the FFGeek poll.
It’s also worth noting here that the FFGeek poll asks who you are going to appoint as captain to reflect the reality of the spread of captain choices. Others ask who is the best captain. Others just say captain poll and leave the question up to you. I also show how many vote so you can see how representative it is which some other polls hide
Firstly here’s the FFGeek poll:
Here’s the summary of the other main FPL advice site polls. It’s worth noting that site 1 is the site with the most traffic and it asks who is the best captain

SALAH VS KANE
SALAH
Salah has started 12 games at home vs non top 6 sides. Gametime I think he will start but whether he will be taken off early for the UCL match on Wednesday is a risk. I also make it Spurs will have 5 days additional rest between matches
Salah has returned a goal or assist in 10/12 games and got double figure FPL point hauls in 6/12 games. Apart from the first game his underlying stats have been exemplary. I would imagine Salah will have penalty duties.
Stoke away defence
Here’s there stats against top 6 sides:
GWk | Opponent | GC | xGA |
8 | Man City | 7 | 4.45 |
16 | Spurs | 5 | 4.02 |
21 | Chelsea | 5 | 3.1 |
23 | Man Utd | 3 | 1.95 |
32 | Arsenal | 3 | 3.57 |
Average | 4.60 | 3.42 |
The reverse fixture was 3-0 to Liverpool.
Kane
Kane has started 11 home games against non top 6 sides. He will be a definite starter and should play the full 90 minutes
Kane has returned a goal or assist in 5/11 games and got double figure FPL point hauls in 3/11 games. Apart from the Swansea and Palace games game his underlying stats have been excellent. He has penalty duties.
Watford away defence
GWk | Opponent | GC | xGA |
9 | Chelsea | 4 | 1.78 |
22 | Man City | 3 | 2.77 |
30 | Arsenal | 3 | 2.38 |
31 | Liverpool | 5 | 1.81 |
Average | 3.75 | 2.19 |
SUMMARY
So gametime wise although we think Salah will start he could have his minutes managed for the UCL match on Wednesday. It’s also worth noting that the Liverpool match is on Saturday after they played on Tuesday and will be with a somewhat weakened team without Mane. Spurs will play on Monday after playing last Saturday. That’s a 5 day difference.
The bookies have Kane marginally ahead to score at 1.40 vs £1.50 to Salah.
Polls favour Kane with a 15% margin
Here’s the stats average comparison between the 2 players:
Salah wins hands down on everything except the underlying goal threat stats although the greater points for midfielders and his assist threat would give him more points overall from those stats.
Salah is favoured by the Stoke defence which is appalling and has conceded 4.6 goals a game away to the top 6. Watford aren’t much better at 3.75.
Penalties are a tricky one. I think Salah could take it for Liverpool. Kane will definitely take it for Spurs.
FFGEEK CHOICE
Although all the stats point to Salah including the defence he faces. It’s whether that is balanced out by the minutes risk due to the UCL match and also balanced out by the shorter times between games (3 clear days only for Liverpool).
At the moment it’s on Kane but I’m going to sleep on it. I’ll tweet around 10am tomorrow if I change my mind.
Hope that helped you with your choice
