fantasy premier league GW36 – The FFGeek team

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s the FFGeek team for fantasy premier league GW36.  As usual we talk through the transfers and the related dilemmas, the team selection and the captain choice

Firstly here’s the team.  No transfers:

The transfers

Or lack of them.  The reason was to give some flexibility for the DGW37 next week.  Definitely not because everythings rosy in the FFGeek teams garden.  Also if the title is decided this week that could change my view of the Spurs assets.

The closest I came to a transfer was Mitrovic for Deeney.  However while there’s definitely some upside it didn’t seem to be worth boxing me into 1 transfer next week or having to take a 4 point hit.

I could have also transferred out Coutinho quite easily given he seems unlikely to play as he was subbed at half time against Villareal but again the desire for flexibility next week has over ridden that.

The team selection

Setting up a team for bench boost really does make team selection a little trickier than the days of Surman as a 5th midfielder and McCarthy as a reserve GK.

Here’s our defensive ranking schedule:

PlayerFFG rankBookies rank
Mignolet37
Robles116
Bellerin11
Walker511
Rojo64
Simpson815
Delaney917

So the GK selection is touch and go.  Evertons home defensive stats aren’t anything to have confidence in but Bournemouth look like Villa in disguise at the moment.  However given the closeness of the bookies and the disparity in my odds I’ve got to go for Liverpool so Mignolets in.  Although it looks from the managers briefings that both could be rested this weekend so the choice is likely to be made for me.

A clear 1st and 2nd in the defence selection for Arsenal and Man Utd.  Then it’s just Leicester vs Spurs and both myself and the bookies go for Spurs so thats it.  It could be irrelevant anyway as I can’t see Coutinho playing and Simpson is first sub.

The captain choice

I’ve gone for Sanchez at this stage but captain choice article coming tomorrow

Team rating

This is where we rate the team based on the anytime goalscoring odds and clean sheet odds.  An average score gives a rough indication of our prospects.  I’ve assumed Coutinho won’t play

PlayerAnytime GS  odds Clean sheet odds
Mignolet3.10
Rojo2.50
Bellerin1.83
Walker3.50
Simpson3.75
Payet2.90
Iwobi2.80
Sanchez1.91
Mitrovic2.50
 Aguero2.05
Kane2.05

An average of £2.62 is nothing to sneeze at although the gametime of the GKs, Iwobi and Mitrovic isn’t ideal thats for sure.  Despite the average I’m bracing myself for a red arrow

Thats it captain article tomorrow
