fantasy premier league GW36 team selection – the FFGeek teams

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW36 team selection article where we outline the FFGeek teams. We look at last weeks points, transfers, team lineups and captain decisions.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW36 TEAM SELECTION – THE FFGEEK TEAMS

Just to repeat for anyone new on the site, that I’m continuing with my 2 team theme as a result of my accidental free hit chip being used in GW23.

Team 1 is the team with the free hit chip lost.

Team 2 has the free hit team intact and was cloned from one of my alternate FFGeek teams to be my original team through a -28 point hit.

Team 2 is to help people who were following my original team as a reference point so they can continue doing so.

Team 1 will help those people who used their free hit chip earlier in the season.

Both teams required totally different strategies to navigate through the potential blank and double gameweeks

GW35 PERFORMANCE – FREE HIT LOST TEAM

GW35 points: 54 -4 (average 30) Total points 2,076, Gameweek rank 339k, Overall Rank: 28k, green arrow 1k, Team Value: £102.5m

Here’s the team points from the gameweek. 54 -4 points. Ranked 28k OR from a 1k green arrow

Chips wise I have the Bench boost left 0nly. That will be used in GW37

So if you want to see a dissection of the gameweek then go to my early FFGeek team thoughts article but in essence a gameweek I was dreading came up with the smallest of green arrows and a gameweek rank which was my 7th best of the season.

Those with a free hit generally did even better but still I’m definitely not complaining.

 Transfer thoughts

The one advantage of not free hitting in 35 is that I already have my City players in place.  In fact the team is well set up and I’m not even considering a transfer but are leaving it for next week to have 2 for maximum flexibility for the DGW37 bench boost.

My plan for the moment is to keep Salah.  It seems he will be starting at Stoke according to the twitter site that seems to have access to the lineups.  The only players apart from him without a DGW37 are the 3 Burnley lads.  They’re relatively low value which will make them hard to transfer for a quality target but at the moment I plan to stick with who I’ve got for DGW37 rather than sacrifice someone for a funding mission.

Lineup conundrums

To be fair it’s a pretty strong lineup on the bench.  Dummett, Lingard, Wood, Tarkowski and Kenedy could have seen any combination in the team.  I have alot of faith in Lingard just not Jose’s minutes so I’ve gambled on him starting.  Same for Wood, I am a big fan.  In the end I thought a Newcastle clean sheet was a better thought than returns from Kenedy and doubling up on the Burnley defence.  So that’s where it fell.

Captain thoughts

Probably Kane as even if Salah starts he may have his minutes managed.  My captain article later will certainly help

Here’s the team:

GW35 PERFORMANCE – FREE HIT INTACT TEAM

This team is as if I didn’t make an accidental free hit ie the same as my original team and was cloned from one of my alternate FFGeek teams to be my original team through a -28 point hit. I will keep it to show how I would have navigated through the blanks with all the chips intact. I think that will be helpful for those who were using my original team as a reference point

GW35 points: 70 on FH (average 30) Total points 2,017 Gameweek rank 34k Overall Rank: 102k green arrow 70k Team Value: £100.5m

The free hit intact team has now used the free hit.  Here’s the points. 70k green arrow to 102k OR.

The chip plan is to triple captain Kane GW37. That will be the last of this teams chips

So the week couldn’t be much better and a gameweek rank of 34k is quite mind boggling as is the 70k green arrow at this stage of the season.  If I had got the team selection right there were more points on the bench with Zaha and Chambers the disappointments.  While I doubt if I ever seriously was thinking of Barnes over Zaha the Chambers selection was a selection that went wrong as Tomkins was a viable alternative.  In the end Chambers didn’t start but came on as an 88 minute sub which was even more annoying

I talk more about it in my early FFGeek team thoughts article

Transfer thoughts

Above you are seeing the free hit team so this week I’m going to start with the team that it reverts back to with the transfers completed otherwise it will be difficult to follow.

fantasy premier league GW36 TEAM SELECTION

The transfer this week was always going to be Jesus in as he seems pretty certain to start all the games to the end of the season given that Aguero appears to be out for the rest of the season.  I was debating whether to take out Austin to make it work but Austin started in the FA Cup and played 90 minutes so he has to have a chance of starting against the appalling defence of Bournemouth.  It also meant some problems structurally with the team which would have involved a cheap player coming in for Mahrez forcing me into 4-3-3 without the defence to back it up.

So first transfer was Lukaku out for Jesus.

After that I’ve been debating whether I should take a hit for Sterling to take Mahrez out.  Mahrez has blanked in his last 4 and has put up pretty poor stats in 3 (to add to pretty poor season stats) of those games so he is a legitimate target.  I’ve got concerns about Sterlings game time but he is so explosive that he could make up for it with reduced fixtures. Pep didn’t give any hint of mass rotation in the press conference which may or may not mean anything.  Sterling also seems to be a popular serious managers transfer so works as a shield.  I was think about next week rather than this week but I’m going to bite the bullet and do the transfer

So 2 the transfers are Jesus in Lukaku out and Mahrez out Sterling in -4

DGW37

I’ve used the bench boost so I only need to get 10 DGW37 players plus Salah in DGW37.  That is achievable.  My bench at the moment would be Lowton, Lewis Cook, Schelotto with Ryan the GK. That would force me to play double Leicester defence so unless there are issues elsewhere Morgan out would be a nice low key transfer for next week.

Kane will be the triple captain in DGW37 unless Jesus muscles in on the act.

Team selection

The only issue was whether to swerve both Leicester defenders or both Brighton defensive representation as the 3rd defensive selection after Lowton and Christensen was the only decision to be made.  In the end I went with Schelotto for Brighton up against Burnley as I felt that had more of a clean sheet chance.

Captain

Captain article coming later tonight but Kane for the moment with Jesus as vice

Good luck this week!
