fantasy premier league GW36 tips – the bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW36 tips article where we outline the bandwagons and sinking ships so far for Gameweek 36. These are the 5 most transferred in and out players so far in the gameweek. Just a reminder that these are purely driven by stats from the FPL site and not my view of them. I’ve also changed the format with a table of stats for easy comparison followed by the ususal narrative and the fixtures to the end of the season

So the new format sees a table of stats for easy reference of the various players with narrative and the fixtures below the table to the end of the season. The table also has a key to understand the headings. The players were picked as of this morning and include stats up to but before the Newcastle v Man City game tonight. There’s a table of stats plus a key beneath. Below that there’s some narrative on each player plus the fixtures to the end of the season. I also specifically point out  DGW37.

The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek

Carroll

There’s no doubting the qualities of the West Ham centre forward and his recent form.  It’s just the gametime risk with Sakho, Valencia and Emineke all able to play as the forward.  DGW37

Gameweek 36 West Brom (A)
Gameweek 37 Swansea (H)
Gameweek 37 Man Utd (H)
Gameweek 38 Stoke (A)

Moreno

Rotation with the Liverpool LB is the risk as it is with all the Liverpool defenders and in fact the team.  Has missed 3 of the last 8. However no doubting his attacking qualities.  DGW37

Gameweek 36 Swansea (A)
Gameweek 37 Watford (H)
Gameweek 37 Chelsea (H)
Gameweek 38 West Brom (A)

Payet

The West Ham midfielder has been one of the sensations of the season and one of the triple captain options for the DGW37. Has all set piece responsibility for West Ham and a master of the direct free kick.  Has little in the way of shooting stats but is effective in getting into the penalty area especially on the counter attack.   DGW37

Gameweek 36 West Brom (A)
Gameweek 37 Swansea (H)
Gameweek 37 Man Utd (H)
Gameweek 38 Stoke (A)

Ighalo

It says something about the attraction of Villa as an opponent when a player who has blanked in the last 10 games is one of the most transferred in players so far in the gameweek.  However that is the position with the Watford striker who has had an incredible season of 2 halves.  DGW37

Gameweek 36 Aston Villa (H)
Gameweek 37 Liverpool (A)
Gameweek 37 Norwich (A)
Gameweek 38 Sunderland (H)

Sturridge

There’s no doubting the guys quality.  No doubting at all.  It’s just whether the Europa League progress, given his injury record, will see rotation.  Origi out helps but both Firmino and Benteke can still play striker.  DGW37

Gameweek 36 Swansea (A)
Gameweek 37 Watford (H)
Gameweek 37 Chelsea (H)
Gameweek 38 West Brom (A)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek

Vardy

The Leicester striker was sent off for a 2nd yellow card for simulation in DGW34 and GW36 will see the 2nd and last week of his suspension.  After that Leicester could have won the league and that could change the team lineup and see fringe players getting a game.  That risk is heightened in that Everton and Chelsea have nothing to play for so there is no moral case to put out a full team

Gameweek 36 Man Utd (A)
Gameweek 37 Everton (H)
Gameweek 38 Chelsea (A)

Pelle

The Southampton forward was inexplicably left out of the team that faced Villa.  Rotation is one thing if you’re in the cups but surprising to say the least when it involves team still chasing a Europa League place. 2 tricky fixtures next

Gameweek 36 Man City (H)
Gameweek 37 Spurs (A)
Gameweek 38 Crystal Palace (H)

Alli

The young Spurs CAM has been charged by the FA for his punch on Yacob.  Seems likely he will get a 3 game suspension and the end of his season as a result.  Rugby playrs must be laughing their heads off as it was hardly something that Anthony Joshua would have thrown

Gameweek 36 Chelsea (A)
Gameweek 37 Southampton (H)
Gameweek 38 Newcastle (A)

Ozil

Form is a big determinant of transfers in and out.  This is the reason for the sales of Ozil.  He may not have a DGW but does have good fixtures and over the season his stats are good.  In addition a CAM for Arsenal should get returns.  Lastly his underlying creating chances stats may have dropped off somewhat but theyre not disastrous

Gameweek 36 Norwich (H)
Gameweek 37 Man City (A)
Gameweek 38 Aston Villa (H)

Lukaku

Another victim of form.  Does have good stats over the season and very good fixtures.  Underlying shooting stats though have fallen away.  Should have pens despite FA Cup semi miss.  DGW37

Gameweek 36 Bournemouth (H)
Gameweek 37 Leicester (A)
Gameweek 37 Sunderland (A)
Gameweek 38 Norwich (H)
