Here’s our fantasy premier league GW37 captain choice article where we look at ways of assessing the best captain pick for the gameweek. We look at the fixtures, the FPL advice site polls, who the FFGeek contributors are captaining, some stats and the FFGeek choice.
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW37 CAPTAIN CHOICE
As far as the 2nd DGW37 fixtures there are no bookie odds for either the anytime goal scoring odds or team to win odds at the moment so I don’t see the point in including this section.
FIXTURES
Here’s the fixtures for GW37:
THE FPL ADVICE SITE POLLS
Thanks to everybody who voted in the FFGeek poll.
It’s also worth noting here that the FFGeek poll asks who you are going to appoint as captain to reflect the reality of the spread of captain choices. Others ask who is the best captain. Others just say captain poll and leave the question up to you. I also show how many vote so you can see how representative it is which some other polls hide
Firstly here’s the FFGeek poll:
Here’s the summary of the other main FPL advice site polls. It’s worth noting that site 1 is the site with the most traffic and it asks who is the best captain

KANE VS JESUS
In my mind it’s hard to envisage Kane not starting both games and playing the huge majority of minutes. Even if Spurs secure a Champions League spot then Kane has the golden boot as something he has stated he wants to win
Jesus should play the majority of minutes of both games with Aguero injured. He could be vulnerable to an early substitution or to a false 9 scenario. The latter would surprise me greatly though.
Key stats comparision.
Non top 6 sides home and away starts only.

SUMMARY
So gametime wise I feel fairly certain Kane will pretty much play 90 minutes in both fixtures with his pursuit of the golden boot the hedge against Spurs suddenly being guaranteed a UCL spot.
Jesus I feel will start both games given that Pep has no out and out striker although it’s possible he could be subbed early and it’s always possible that Pep might do something left filed like play a false 9.
No bookies this week as there are no odds for the 2nd games available as yet.
The Polls favour Kane with a 13% margin on the site that probably mirrors the top 10k most accurately.
The stats favour Kane in pretty much every area. The defensive stats aren’t that different to be a conclusive decision maker.
Kane will have pens. Jesus may have them although he missed the last one.
FFGEEK CHOICE
The stats surprised me in that they pretty comprehensively favour Kane and the defences aren’t conclusively in favour of Jesus like I thought they maybe. However Man City to me look miles ahead of Spurs and any other team at the moment apart from maybe Liverpool on their day. It’s mind boggling to think of how many goals they could score. I don’t feel that about Spurs to be fair and Kane has looked pretty off the pace recently despite the stats.
Kane does give me more gametime comfort although I am often guilty of over thinking the whole gametime problem. Spurs could have the top 4 settled if Chelsea don’t beat Liverpool by the time of their 2nd game and while that won’t slow down Kane it could take the pressure off the team. Man City will be presented the trophy v Huddersfield so I imagine that will be a full team looking to put on a show and although Pep I imagine will make some changes for the midweek game given his words I don’t think they will extensively weaken the team.
My eyes tell me to go with Jesus whereas the stats lead to Kane. I’ll definitely need to have more thought and 1 way or another I’ll be tweeting where I end up tomorrow.
