Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW37 team selection article where we outline the FFGeek teams. We look at last weeks points, transfers, team lineups and captain decisions.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW37 TEAM SELECTION – THE FFGEEK TEAMS

Just to repeat for anyone new on the site, that I’m continuing with my 2 team theme as a result of my accidental free hit chip being used in GW23.

Team 1 is the team with the free hit chip lost.

Team 2 has the free hit team intact and was cloned from one of my alternate FFGeek teams to be my original team through a -28 point hit.

Team 2 is to help people who were following my original team as a reference point so they can continue doing so.

Team 1 will help those people who used their free hit chip earlier in the season.

Both teams required totally different strategies to navigate through the potential blank and double gameweeks

GW36 PERFORMANCE – FREE HIT LOST TEAM

GW36 points: 58 (average 44) Total points 2,134, Gameweek rank 648k, Overall Rank: 23k, green arrow 5k, Team Value: £102.6m

Here’s the team points from the gameweek. 58 points. 23k OR from a 5k green arrow

Chips wise I have the Bench boost left 0nly.

So if you want to see a dissection of the gameweek then go to my early FFGeek team thoughts article but overall it was a good gameweek.  Both transfers in Sterling and Jesus came through and the double Burnley defence also turned up.  Kane could have done so much better but at least I got the right captain even if it didn’t appear so after analysis

 Transfer thoughts

I’ve got 2 free transfers and £0.1m in the bank

One transfer I’ve been certain on and that is the transfer of Wood out and Austin in.  He’s a definite risk with the lack of gametime that he’s been getting from Hughes but I think he’s the best of a pretty ordinary bunch.  I could have gone for Ayew for the safer choice but his stats are so poor that it would be against everything I believe in.

After that I have 3 options I’ve been mulling over during the week were:

Tarkoswki out for Danilo

Christensen out for B Davies

Mahrez out for D Silva

However the sight of Walker in training put paid to the Danilo transfer and Rose being fit apparently put paid to any thoughts of the Davies transfer.  However what the real issue was that I was using my bench boost and 2 of the 3 outfield players wouldn’t have DGWs and would be Burnley defenders away to Arsenal.  That seemed ridiculous and really took control of my decision thinking.  With only enough Man City money for Danilo and Laporte that just seemed too risky gametime wise so in the end I went left field for Chambers as Koscielny looks like he has a season ending injury from the EL tie last night.  Not a perfect transfer by any means but hopefully he plays the last 3 games

Whether to take hits or not has been my major conundrum.  On the one hand it doesn’t make sense to take hits when the season is so close to the end and the gameweek could be rife with rotation.  But what was also bugging me was that this could be a 100 point gameweek so whats 4 points in that context?

Defensively my main risk areas appeared to be Vertonghen and Arnautovic which didn’t really seem the end of the world.  I could have taken a -8 to cover them both by taking out Mahrez and Lowton out and it was tempting but for now I’ve left it but I’m definitely mulling it over and will tweet if I do it

So transfers were.  Wood out to Austin and Tarkowski out to Chambers

Lineup conundrums

The bench boost at least rules that agonising over with

Captain thoughts

Not sure if you saw my captain article  but the stats seem to go for Kane although it’s hard to get your head around that when Man City have been so dominant and you think they could score any amount.  Kane and Spurs have been less convincing.

The Polls going for Kane have also not helped the matter.  In the end I went for what seemed the lower risk option of Kane as captain

Here’s the team: (added note it appears Ben Chilwell is injured)

GW35 PERFORMANCE – FREE HIT INTACT TEAM

This team is as if I didn’t make an accidental free hit ie the same as my original team and was cloned from one of my alternate FFGeek teams to be my original team through a -28 point hit. I will keep it to show how I would have navigated through the blanks with all the chips intact. I think that will be helpful for those who were using my original team as a reference point

GW36 points: 50 -4 (average 44) Total points 2,063 Gameweek rank 1,827k Overall Rank: 112k red arrow 10k Team Value: £100.9m

Here’s the points. 10k red arrow to 112k OR.

So a bad week with little going right apart from the 2 transfers in of Sterling and Jesus.  The 10 points on the bench being the ultimate kick in the teeth.

There’s more looking back in my early thoughts on the FFGeek team article

Transfer thoughts

This week I have 1 free transfer and £1.2m in the bank.

This week I’ve been thinking about 3 transfers

Willian out D Silva in or

Lingard out Arnautovic in or

Morgan out and Danilo in

Danilo was ruled out by Walker seemingly being fit.  So the choice was clearly between the first 2 transfers.  In the end I went for the Silva option and just thought hang it.

As I said above, whether to take hits or not has been my major conundrum.  On the one hand it doesn’t make sense to take hits when the season is so close to the end and the gameweek could be rife with rotation.  But what was also bugging me was that this could be a 100 point gameweek so whats 4-8 points in that context?  In the end my conservationism just stopped me from taking hits when I just thought there’s so much rotation risk.

So transfer was Willian to D Silva

Team selection

No issues there the bench was always going to be Schelotto, Cook and Lowton with Ryan the benched GK.  Brighton’s fixtures and the single gameweek disadvantage sealed the others

Captain

As I said above,  if you saw my captain article  but the stats seem to go for Kane although it’s hard to get your head around that when Man City have been so dominant and you think they could score any amount.  Kane and Spurs have been less convincing.

The Polls going for Kane have also not helped the matter.  In then end I stuck with Kane given that I had 3 City players. so triple captain Kane it is

Here’s the team: (added note it appears Ben Chilwell is injured)
