The bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek in order

Beneteke

11 goals and 1 assist in his last 10 games for the £7.9m Villa forward shows the exceptional form he’s been in since Sherwood took over as manager and then transformed Villa into a far more attackig side with Benteke as the focal point.  Burnley though with 3 clean sheets in ther last 7 and only 4 goals conceded are no pushover and the clean sheet at home to Stoke showed that relegation hasn’t seem to stop their defensive motivation.  The only other negative is whether with Villa safe for relegation he will be rested given the FA Cup next week and his injury history this season.  This is especially the case given that there is nothing to play for for either side in this match.

Silva

1 goal and 5 assists in his last 3 games are the form stats that have driven the transfers in for the £9.6m Man City midfielder.  A 52% consistency return rate ie in 52% of games he’s returned a goal or assist is good as is a minutes per FPL point of 13.6.  Southampton though despite only getting 4 clean sheets away have conceded less goals than any team away from home.  Also no team have conceded 2 or more goals less away from home than the 4 times Southampton have.

Gameweek 38 Southampton (H)

Mane

The £6.2m Southampton midfielder scored the fastest ever premier league hat trick against Villa on the weekend.  Prior to that though it was a pretty unimpressive 2 goals and 1 assist in the last 9. Also away to Man City who are 4th on the goals conceded and 3rd equal on clean sheets is a difficult 1 fixture to draft him in for.

Bolasie

A fantastic performance by the £5.5m Palace midfielder against Liverpool at the weekend with 2 assists.  However that was his first returns after 4 blanks that followed his hat trick against Sunderland in GW32.  An FPL point every 20.9 minutes is nothing to write home about neither is the consistency return rate of 30%.  On his day though he can be explosive. However, Swansea are no mugs defensively away from home as Arsenal found to their cost in the last gameweek.  Only WBA and Liverpool have more clean sheets away

Aguero

I still find it hard to believe that there are active managers who don’t have the £12.8m Man City forward in their team. 8 goals and 3 assists in his last 6 games and an FPL point every 11.6 minutes says it all.  Opposition are irrelevant but as I said for Silva, Southampton though despite only getting 4 clean sheets away have conceded less goals than any team away from home.  Also no team have conceded 2 or more goals less away from home than the 4 times Southampton have.

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek

Harry Kane

A blank against Hull for the £6.2m Spurs forward followed 2 blanks against Man City and Stoke have been too much for FPL managers who may have just held on for that game like myself.  Certainly the form has really dropped off since his hat trick against Leicester and it’s been 1 goal and 1 assists in the 7 games since.  However he has been a revelation this season and his minutes per FPL point of 13.6 is excellent for the value.  Evertons resurgent home form of 4 clean sheets in the last 5 certainly doesn’t help the case to hold him.

Fabregas

Have you ever seen a more bizzare sending off?  Has there ever been a sending off where the 2 people involved have been further apart?  If you haven’t seen it you need to go on you tube.  It is priceless.  I haven’t heard anything about an appeal and perhaps with 1 game to go Chelsea won’t bother but there could be a case as to whether it was deliberate.  However for the moment he is banned for the last game (3 games?)

Gameweek 38 Sunderland (H)

De Gea

The £5.9m Man Utd GK went off with a hip injury against Arsenal. Nothing from the club as yet but De Gea himself has tweeted that “I hope the injury is not too serious”.  Certainly if you have a goalkeeper who plays as a reserve then it’s a pointless transfer but otherwise it maybe worth waiting for later in the week as to whether he will play depending on your cash position.

Gameweek 38 Hull (A)

Ki

The £5.2m Swansea midfielder has a knee injury and will miss the last game of the season so a no brainer to sell asap

Eriksen

If I find it incredible that there are active managers that don’t own Aguero the reverse is applicable here.  I find it incredible that there are active managers who still own the £7.9m Spurs midfielder.  If you do own him then you are truly the most patient and loyal person ever.  You are the sort of people who do 1000 piece jig saw puzzles or perhaps you are really a loyal labrador and not even human.  I admire you.  Surely after 1 goal and 2 assists in his last 14 games and a fixture against a team that has had 4 home clean sheets in his last 5 it’s time to sell
