fantasy premier league GW38 tips – the bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW38 tips article where we outline the bandwagons and sinking ships so far for Gameweek 38. These are the 5 most transferred in and out players so far in the gameweek. Just a reminder that these are purely driven by stats from the FPL site and not my view of them. There’s a table of stats for easy comparison followed by the ususal narrative and the fixtures to the end of the season

So the new format sees a table of stats for easy reference of the various players with narrative and the fixtures below the table to the end of the season. The table also has a key to understand the headings. There’s a table of stats plus a key beneath. Below that there’s some narrative on each player plus the fixtures to the end of the season.

The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek

Tadic

The Southampton attacking midfielder has had a relatively slow start to the season but it’s been a blistering 2 goals and 6 assists in the last 4 games.  The underlying creating chances stats are good but not in the Ozil/KDB/Payet class.  Good last fixture against a team just confirmed as safe and looking to the FA Cup final next

 Gameweek 38 Crystal Palace (H)

Sanchez

The Arsenal RWM has been in great form, has great underlying stats and Villa next. A pretty irresistible combination

Gameweek 38 Aston Villa (H)

Vardy

The Leicester striker returned to the goals after a barren spell.  In theory a tricky game next but the Chelsea defence hasn’t been at the strength of last season

Gameweek 38 Chelsea (A)

Defoe

The Sunderland striker is a proven goal scorer who scored the winner at the weekend despite some pretty ordinary stats.  Still 1 more game this week which gives the chance for Sunderland to be safe.  Whether that will affect him in GW38 remains to be seen but it will certainly change the nature of the fixture.

Gameweek 38 Watford (A)

A Ayew

The Swansea midfielder has 2 goals and an assist in his last 2 games but had 9 consecutive blanks prior to that.  With Man City needing a result to secure Champions League football it seems a pretty optimistic transfer

Gameweek 38 Man City (H)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek

Alli

The Spurs CAM is suspended for rest of the season for the “punch” on WBA’s agent provocateur Yacob. Son is the replacement

Gameweek 38 Newcastle (A)

Huth

The Leicester CB is suspended for the last game after his hair pulling antics on Fellaini.  £3.9m CB Wasilewski is the likely replacement given he started last week.  There  could be a better last fixture defensive wise than Chelsea away

Gameweek 38 Chelsea (A)

Sigurdsson

The Swansea CAM is injured and out for the season.  Given the rotation in the team it’s impossible to assess the replacement vs general selection rotation

Gameweek 38 Man City (H)

Ozil

The Arsenal CAM was injured for the Man City game but looks hopeful for the final match against Villa given that Wenger has said he should be back within days.  I would certainly think carefully about transferring out anyone with Villa next even with his rather poor form.  Good set piece involvement and even the underlying stats have held up despite the fall off of returns.

Gameweek 38 Aston Villa (H)

Martial

The Man Utd LWM looks unlikely to play against West Ham in the 2nd game of GW37 which means he will need monitoring at the very least before GW38. Lack of underlying stats and a wide position don’t make him the ideal striker option and thats before you get to Man Utd’s stuttering attack.  There are however few more attractive opponents than Bournemouth at the moment.
