Here’s part 2 of our article where we analyse the teams and performance of 10 top FPL managers. Here we look at how they’ve scored now the gameweek has finished. Things have definitely improved but still only 4 have an overall rank of better than 1 million even though 6 have used their wildcard. I’ve copied and pasted the original article into this with any extra additions for part 2 in italics so you don’t have to re read the whole article.
Here’s part 1 of our article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. This is part 1 where we give the team selection information. After the games have completed we will then outline the scores. These are just not the current top 10 but 10 managers who’ve been successful over the last 3 years. Again I’ve tweaked the 10 top managers hoping to find the best 10 I can so the stats are a little different. However I imagine this will be the last change to the makeup of the 10. The 10 managers have now never been outside the top 10k in the last 3 years (30 times playing FPL). The article is all about giving you another view point other than mine. The top 10 managers have turned it around for the first time after most have used their wildcard
fantasy premier league GW4 – analysing 10 top FPL managers part 2
So in the first part of the article I’ll give the FPL managers stats and then outline their teams and structure. When the games end in the gameweek I’ll then make an additional post with their scores. As I said I’ve tweaked the makeup of the 10 to get managers with better stats. The stats are incredible.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 1,877
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 8 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
4. 5 of the 10 managers have finished in the top 100
GW3 average score and rank
The average score of the managers in GW3 was 52 compared to the average of 45. Thats 7 points and 16% above the average. The first time we’ve had an average score from the 10 above the overall average score. The high score was 60. The low score was 40. Quite a high spread of 20.
The average overall rank is 1.05m of the top 10 managers. The best rank is 550k and the lowest 1.63m.
If you’re interested my decision not to wildcard was a total disaster and I ended up with 36 an an overall rank of 1.6m. However a chance to improve with the wildcard now used.
