fantasy premier league GW4 budget midfield player rankings

First it’s important to remember that each player is ranked as a transfer target for this week. So while we generally look at fixtures form and underlying stats a player who’s away to Man City is going to be ranked lower than someone home to Huddersfield for example. If possible a transfer should have a good fixture first up.

Firstly there’s a table of stats. Then there’s a bit of brief commentary on each player.

This is the 3rd player rankings article. I’ve also written a defenders and GKs player rankings article plus a midfielders article at £7.5m or over

STATS DEFINITIONS

Mins per FPL pt: How long it took to earn an FPL point in 16/17. The lower the better

The Schedule

Brady

The Burnley midfielder is a player with good set piece responsibility who is an assist based player.  Mainly stationed on the right.  Just the 1 assist so far for Chris Wood in the late equaliser at Spurs.

2 very good home fixtures in the next 3

Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Everton (A)
West Ham (H)
Man City (A)

Ramsey

The Arsenal box to box CM scored in the opening game off the bench against Leicester but then was taken off at half time after his much criticised performance in the first half against Liverpool.  Could be a gametime doubt after that if Wenger looks to change things fundamentally.  However has posted some good attacking stats and looks to be one of the few box to box players Id trust.

Bournemouth (H)
Chelsea (A)
West Brom (H)
Brighton (H)
Watford (A)
Everton (A)

Redmond

Just the 1 assist in the win over West Ham in GW2  for the Southampton LAM.  2 good fixtures to go before the Man Utd gamewhere if the underlying stats don’t convert then he can be consigned to the bin

Watford (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (H)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)
West Brom (H)

Tadic

Redmonds partner in crime against FPL managers at least has penalty duties although he did his best to nearly miss that penalty in the West Ham match which is his only return to date.

Watford (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (H)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)
West Brom (H)

Knockaert

The Brighton RAM Championship player of the year started the season with some injury issues but eventually managed 80 mins against Watford in GW3. Has posted some very good underlying stats but yet to return.

West Brom (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Newcastle (H)
Arsenal (A)
Everton (H)
West Ham (A)

Richarlison

Playing on the left of a front 3 the Watford attacking midfielder has started the season impressively with a goal against Bournemouth and has excellent underlying stats to back it up.  The negative is the upcoming fixtures which aren’t helpful

Southampton (A)
Man City (H)
Swansea (A)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (A)

Ince

While his Huddersfield team has started well Ince hasn’t really shown his goal scoring midfield ability with 3 blanks and pretty ordinary underlying stats.  Reasonable fixtures next 3 gives him another chance but things need to improve

West Ham (A)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A)
Spurs (H)
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)

Ritchie

The Newcastle RAM has started the season ok with an assist in the win over West Ham.  Plays very advanced with good set piece representation and could even have penalties.

Swansea (A)
Stoke (H)
Brighton (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
