Attacking Player suggestions

So I’m going to do attacking player suggestions from the 2 clubs in green who rank in the top 6 for both the next 3 and the next 6 fixtures

Burnley

£5.5m Mid Brady and £6.0m forward Vokes are my choices here.

Brady has a points per match of 3.7 and is the principle set piece taker.  Only 1 assist to date but has looked an assist threat throughout the season so far.  He is miles above his team mate in key pass stats and if you read our underlying stats part 2 article you’ll see that only Mkhitaryan has better expected assist stats than Brady so far this season.  In key passes he’s 5th in midfielders to Mkhitaryan, Fabregas, Silva and Ozil.  You can see this in part 1 of our underlying stats article

Vokes with a PPG of 5.3 appears to be the first choice CF now for Burnley.  He scored 2 goals in the opening win at Chelsea although the Spurs game and substitution after 56 minutes highlighted the minutes risk that seems to come with Burnley forwards.  His underlying stats are good and he’s 5th for shots in the penalty area among forwards.  You can also see these in part 1 of our underlying stats article

Next 6 fixtures

Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Everton (A)
West Ham (H)
Man City (A)

Newcastle

I think we need a settling down with the forward position so I’ve concentrated on £5.0m  LAM Atsu and £5.9m RAM Ritchie as the suggestions

Ritchie has a PPG of 2.7 with a single assist in the opening 3 games.  He is the lead man for set pieces and is also the likely penalty taker.  He leads the mids in shots in the box as provided by whoscored.com but has been disappointing so far in key passes.

Atsu has a PPG of 3.3 and also has a single assist in the opening 3 games.  He is slightly behind Ritchie in shots in the box and has the same disappointing key pass rate.

Next 6 fixtures:

Swansea (A)
Stoke (H)
Brighton (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
