Walcott

If you look at his underlying stats last season, in the price range, only Lingard and Richarlison produced better.  With Richarlison now out for 2 games and Everton having a great run of fixtures then Walcott becomes  a natural swap.  Those stats were also with Big Sam having him as an auxiliary right back, practically with a secondary function of attacking, so there’s a natural boost now with the attack minded Silva in charge.

This season he’s started off with a bang with 2 goals and an assist and only missing 6 minutes of pitch time.  It is worth mentioning that he was rather fortunate for his returns at Bournemouth and anonymous vs Wolves so it’s not all clear cut.  However it’s also worth mentioning that both those games saw decent parts of it being played with 10 men.

So the future picture on Walcott is a bit muddled but no mistake the numbers he produced at Arsenal were very very good.  It’s just how much can be replicated here is where the picture isn’t straight forward.

However stripping all that away you have a player with an excellent history in the premier league for £6.7m playing in an attacking system with excellent fixtures ahead and Huddersfield next.  It’s not the hugest gamble really

Huddersfield (H)
West Ham (H)
Arsenal (A)
Fulham (H)
Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Moura

3 games 3 goals for the Spurs AM.  What’s more these were on the back of some excellent underlying stats in GW2 and GW3.  Has been kept at arms length by FPL managers due to the potential presence of Lamela and the return of Son from the Asian games.  Lamela has another injury and reports seems to suggest that Son needs to be in a Korean team that wins the Asian games to avoid military duty.  Forgetting all that though,  it’s hard to see Moura being dropped given the form he’s in and the pace he gives the team behind opposition defences.  Poch has also played a back 4 which is a way of accommodating him in 4-2-3-1.

So excellent form albeit in 2 games.  The fixtures are ok apart from the Liverpool match.  The risk is in the lack of history to back up the continuation of that form.  His PSG numbers are excellent but that is a hard league to compare to.

Watford (A)
Liverpool (H)
Brighton (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Cardiff (H)
West Ham (A)

Mitrovic

3 goals and an assist in his first 3 games and 90 minutes played in each.  Excellent underlying stats, although these are Aguero underlying stats at the moment as opposed to Mitrovic stats of Newcastle days.  He is in a very attacking team with some quality creative players in to feed him.  It’s obvious his stats are at the top and will level off.  It’s just where that level is.

Brighton (A)
Man City (A)
Watford (H)
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Cardiff (A)

Alonso

A goal and 4 assists in his first 3 games plus 35 FPL points makes phenomenal small a word to describe his start.  The theory was that a back 4 would negate his attacking ability.  If anything he hasn’t changed him at all it’s just meant he has no left sided CB in 3 to cover him defensively as Mkhitaryan and Bellerin showed.  Although I think his 2 assists v Newcastle were pretty fortunate his returns in the previous 2 games were no fluke and on the back of excellent underlying stats

Bournemouth (H)
Cardiff (H)
West Ham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (A)
Man Utd (H)

Pereyra

3 goals in 2 games with 2 of the 3 games being pretty good performances.  In the price bracket I don’t think there’s many better and his form at the back end of the season makes this more credible.

Spurs (H)
Man Utd (H)
Fulham (A)
Arsenal (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Wolves (A)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred OUT players so far in the gameweek.

Richarlison

Suspended for 2 premier league matches after a rather brainless sending off v Bournemouth sees him miss 2 pretty decent home games.  Hard to know who will start in his place.  It could be new recruit Bernard or Lookman or Silva could go 4-3-3.  Walcott offers a pretty easy straight swap

Huddersfield (H)
West Ham (H)
Arsenal (A)
Fulham (H)
Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Firmino

2 assists in 3 games isn’t the end of the world although as part of 7 goals it’s bit underwhelming especially as he hasn’t hoovered up bonus like he did last season.  However there’s nothing alarming in the underlying stats.  They are pretty much the same as last season.

Fixtures are turning too

Leicester (A)
Spurs (A)
Southampton (H)
Chelsea (A)
Man City (H)
Huddersfield (A)

Arnautovic

A surprising sale to some degree considering he hasn’t been ruled out of GW4 by the injury that saw him leave the field v West Ham.  Also considering his form to start which has seen 2 goals and 15 FPL points with Liverpool and Arsenal away in the first 3.  I can only imagine that people are price fall sensitive as transferring out pre inury news before a home game to Wolves seems a little unnecessary

Wolves (H)
Everton (A)
Chelsea (H)
Man Utd (H)
Brighton (A)
Spurs (H)

Aubameyang

I don’t care who you are.  If you blank in 3 consecutive games and cost £11.0m you are going to be sold.  Add to that basic fact that he has been moved left when Lacazette comes on and then was subbed against West Ham with 15 minutes to go and he doesn’t have that history attachment of say Kane and Aguero then I’m surprised he has any owners left at all.  His underlying stats also haven’t helped him particularly either,  although the Man City game does distort things.

Here you’re relying on good fixtures, last seasons returns and his Dortmund history and writing off this season as a blip so far.

Cardiff (A)
Newcastle (A)
Everton (H)
Watford (H)
Fulham (A)
Leicester (H)

De Gea

After a nightmare World Cup its 7 goals conceded in 3 games and he’s only made 5 saves.  What’s more is that the man who conceded 15 goals less than the expected goals against him  last season has already conceded 2 more than he should have done by the same measure this season.  The only goal keeper with a  worse record is Joe Hart (no surprise there).

United have been a total defensive mess and you only need to look at the Brighton game to see that a turnaround isn’t going to be easy

Premium goal keepers are a hot topic among FPL managers in the first place so his sales are no surprise

Burnley (A)
Watford (A)
Wolves (H)
West Ham (A)
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (A)
