Things got even worse for the top 10 FPL managers I follow with a poor round with only 4 inside the 1 million mark and none within the 100k.
No part 1 and 2 of the article here. This article includes the scores of the top 10 FPL managers as well as the team selection points. These are just not the current top 10 but 10 managers who’ve been successful over the last 3 years. For definitely the last time I’ve tweaked the 10 top managers hoping to find the best 10 I can so the stats are a little different. The 10 managers have now never been outside the top 10k in the last 3 years (30 times playing FPL). The article is all about giving you another view point other than mine.

I’ll give the FPL managers stats, their GW4 scores and then outline their teams and structure. As I said I’ve tweaked the makeup of the 10 to get managers with better stats. The stats are incredible.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 1,464
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
4. 5 of the 10 managers have finished in the top 100
GW4 average score and rank
The average score of the managers in GW4 was 41 compared to the average of 37. Thats 4 points and 11% above the average. The high score was 53. The low score was 30. A high spread of 23 for the average.
The average overall rank is 1.04 million of the top 10 managers. The best rank is 101k and the lowest 1.71m.
If you’re interested the wildcard paid off with a score of 51 and the rank improved by 700k to 923k. Still a long way to go. This shows how volatile the rankings are at the moment
The top 10k by the way is 226 points. 58 points away for myself.
The average team value
The average team value is 101.5.
GK/Defs by player
Richards is in 7 of the 10 FPL managers teams
Kolarov is in 6 of the 10 FPL managers teams
McCarthy, Targett, Darmian and Gomez are in 5 of the 10 FPL managers teams
Huth is in 4 of the 10 FPL managers teams
Butland and Francis are in 3 of the 10 FPL managers teams

A Villa and Man City GK/Defs are in 8 of the 10 FPL managers teams

GW4 Captain Choice
All 10 captained Aguero for GW3
How many have used their wildcard/chips
7/10 have used their wildcards. 1 of the 10 has used their all out attack chip
Transfers
Sakho West Ham was transferred out by 4/10 FPL managers
Depay and Mane were transferred out by 2/10 FPL managers
Wilson was transferred in by 4 FPL managers
Coutinho, Benteke, Kolarov, Silva, and Pedro were transferred in twice
Formation
9 of 10 used 3-4-3
1/10 used 4-3-3
Team structure
Typically the GK was a cheap GK with McCarthy as a reserve
In the main 2 defenders from the group of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs were in the team
There was virtually an equal amount of teams with 4 midfielders and a £4.5m 5th mid. The other half played with 5 proper mids.
There was a mixture of values of strikers
Only 4 players over £6.0m are outside the teams of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs. Those are Mane, Mahrez, Payet and Cabaye.
