fantasy premier league GW5 tips

Eriksen

If a recipe for picking a player is a good fixtures coming up and good form backed up by underlying stats then Eriksen has it all.  He’s also at the best possible entry point of a home game to the hapless defensive Swansea.

Swansea (H)
West Ham (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Liverpool (H)
Man Utd (A)

Doucoure

Well if Eriksen has it all as a choice for a transfer in Ducoure has considerably less so.  A CM position with an entry point of Man City as the next game isn’t exactly a great recipe for me.  Has scored twice in the first 4 games and has ok underlying stats but I would at least hold off until the Swansea game if your heart is set

Man City (H)
Swansea (A)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (A)
Stoke (H)

Choupo Moting

Playing as a striker or left winger depending on Jese rotation.  He’s come to the fore with 2 goals against Man Utd in GW4.  Great underlying stats.  It’s just that the fixtures aren’t great

Newcastle (A)
Chelsea (H)
Southampton (H)
Man City (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Watford (A)

Morata

3 goals and 2 assists in his first 4 games is some start to the premier league.  Good underlying stats if not leading the bunch.  Next 3 fixtures could be better.

Arsenal (H)
Stoke (A)
Man City (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Watford (H)
Bournemouth (A)

Mkhitaryan

Leading assister with 5 and leading the expected assists tables.  Has also played in an advanced position and history shows he does have  goal threat even if we haven’t seen it yet.  Is rotatable it’s just whether in the league or the Champions League.  Fixture are a little mixed but Man Utd have been an attacking force so far this season.

Everton (H)
Southampton (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Spurs (H)

The sinking ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.  Players injured or suspended I haven’t provided stats for.

Mane

Banned for 2 games after his “tackle” on Ederson with the EFL cup saving 1 game.  It’s hard to know how Klopp will replace him.  Possibly he could put a striker in such as Sturridge and move Firmino over.  Alternatively he could just play Coutinho in the front 3.  Good next 3 fixtures.

 Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)
Newcastle (A)
Man Utd (H)
Spurs (A)
Huddersfield (H)

Pogba

Looks like he will be out for a few weeks with a muscle injury sustained in the Champions League.  Hard to know again how he will be replaced.  It could just be as uninteresting as Fellaini coming in for him or Herrera.  Mkhitaryan is the obvious like for like replacement for your FPL team

Everton (H)
Southampton (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Spurs (H)

Chicharito

Apart from hitting the bar was fairly quiet in the game against an underwhelming Huddersfield.  So his first taste of life with Andy Carroll wasn’t that helpful and it’s now 2 blanks and a 63 minute substitution to cap  it off.  He is a proven goal scorer though and his underlying stats are ok.  Plus apart from Spurs the fixtures aren’t bad

West Brom (A)
Spurs (H)
Swansea (H)
Burnley (A)
Brighton (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

Rooney

So little sign that Rooney is going to lead the line here which would help the case for him.  Fixtures are great though after Man Utd.  Hard to judge him though as 2 goals in 4 games and only blanks against Chelsea and Spurs is hardly a disaster.

Man Utd (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Burnley (H)
Brighton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Leicester (A)

Willian

This was always a time limited gamble to get a cheap Chelsea player in your lineup while Hazard was injured.  1 goal in the first game and blanks thereafter culminating in  a 27 minute appearance in GW4 doesn’t really help the holding on case.  The subbing had as much to do with his international exertions as it did Fabregas taking his place on merit.  The trouble is that not only did Fabregas do well but Hazard is now back ready to take his place.

 Arsenal (H)
Stoke (A)
Man City (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Watford (H)
Bournemouth (A)
