THE FPL ADVICE SITE POLLS.

It’s worth noting here that the FFGeek poll asks who you are going to appoint as captain to reflect the reality of the spread of captain choices. Others ask who is the best captain. Others just say captain poll and leave the question up to you.

Firstly here’s the FFGeek poll:

Here’s the summary of the other main advice polls. It’s worth noting that site 1 is the site with the most traffic

 Summary

Kanes gametime is virtually certain although an easy win could see some rest.  Aguero isn’t as straightforward.  You would have thought that Aguero not even being on the bench for the EFL meant that he was certain to start on Saturday.  It should do you just have to factor in the unpredictability of Pep.  It also doesn’t mean he will last the 90.  That’s a risk you have to accept with Pep

Looking at this week the bookies make it Aguero although not far ahead of Kane.  The bookies have West Ham £6.00 to keep a clean sheet but Palace £12.00.  The bookies have 4 goals or more in the game at £41.00 for the Spurs game but incredibly only £2.40 for the Man City game

The polls are overwhelmingly Aguero.

The stats aren’t that conclusive.  Man City and Aguero have the better results to date but Palace have performed strongly away from home defensively including at Liverpool.

West Ham have only had the 1 game at home but their defence in XG terms isn’t far off Palaces.  Away from home they’ve had 2 hammerings at Man Utd and Newcastle plus conceded 3 at Southampton so the problems are their potentially.

There’s very little between them on ownership with Aguero 22% and Kane 27%

The FFGeek choice

So last week the situation was interesting.  I went for Kane as the overwhelming captain poll leader ostensibly as a shield.  However Lukaku with a goal and an assist hammered my rank due to his large ownership and the fact that he was actually the captain favourite numbers wise.  As someone said in the comments the Lukaku situation featured the general FPL manager population whereas the polls represented FPL managers who come to the advice sites.  If you make the assumption that the FPL managers that come to the advice sites will eventually finish in the higher positions then to that extent in the longer term going with the Polls is a shield.  I can certainly buy that although it isn’t much consolation as you lose 150k in overall rank.

Interestingly looking at the excellent site FPL discovery 34% of the managers in the top 10k as it was at the beginning of GW5 captained Lukaku compared to 14% Kane.

So overall I think there’s some validity in getting in the poll leader as captain still if it’s overwhelming.

My intention at the moment is to get in and captain Aguero.  However if I don’t I’ll be captaining Kane
