Another week dominated by Aguero. Except this week as an exit rather than a transfer in. Here’s our fantasy premier league GW8 tips article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. These 10 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

THE 10 MANAGERS STATS
This season we welcome back 4 of last seasons managers who were the subject of our article. We add to that a new 6 managers. Stats of these managers are unbelievable and every bit as impressive as last season
1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 10 managers in the last 3 seasons is 2,963
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 30 times playing)
3. All 10 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons
GAMEWEEK REVIEW
A reasonably good week for the top 10 FPL managers. 8/10 had green arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW7 was 59 compared to the game average of 51. That’s 8 points and 16% above the game average score. High score of the 10 was 68. The low score was 53. A spread of 15 for a fairly average scoring gameweek. It should be noted that no managers took any point hits.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw an improvement to 837k compared to 1.016 million in the last gameweek. An average rank improvement of 179k. The best rank is 172k and the lowest 1.761 million. If you calculated the median rank then that improved to 714k compared to 1.043 million last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 329k. 7 managers have overall ranks better than 1 million.
The average points are 391.
The average value improved from £101.1m to £101.3m
If you’re interested my score was ok at 63 with no point hits and resulted in a 107k green arrow from 291k overall rank to 184k . I had a higher score than all but 2 the 10 managers. I’m ahead in OR terms of 9/10 top managers. My team value is up £0.1m on the last gameweek to £100.9m. My total score is 419 points.

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
As we said last week, the celebrity manager we followed last season finished around the 20k mark so he’s not in the group this season. This season were going to focus on the manager each week who had the highest finish with an amazing overall rank of 15 last season believe it or not.
This week his transfer was Aguero out and Morata in
His score this week was 53 so again he was the 2nd lowest scorer this week and his rank is 633k. An worsening of rank of 37k from last weeks OR of 596k. His points total is 396. He’s the 5th ranked of the 10 FPL managers
THE HIGHEST SCORER
His score of 68 took him to 172k OR and 420 points. He’s the top ranked manager of the 10. It could have been so much more with Fellaini and Mee on the bench
THE LOWEST SCORER
His score of 51 took him to 1.235 million OR and 378 points. He’s the 9th ranked of the 10 managers.
The differences were down to defence and the captain choice which is so often the case. Of the 17 points difference the Captaincy was 7, the defence 9 mainly due to B Davies. The 1 other point was Eriksen’s 3 over T Carroll’s 2.
