Here’s an imaginary fantasy premier league team solely picked for GW6, No other fixtures taken into account, just gameweek 6. Its also purely theoretical and costs too much to be a real team. The reasoning? Just to help you pick a player if you’re a little unsure who to pick. The chance of immediate points with someone from this team may sway you. Please excuse the fact that I’m only doing the briefest of comments. Some of the players are covered in previous articles this week in my “ones to watch” articles
- Mignolet
- £5.6
- I’m a little dubious about the clean sheet chances although with Fletcher injured they must have some sort of a chance. In any case Mignolet seems to be racking up the save points.
- McGregor
- £4.5
- The value keeper and even if I’m a little unsure about a clean sheet William Hill are more optimisitic
- Vidic
- £6.0
- United should be a fairly nailed on clean sheet and although no one is guaranteed especially with the champions league game midweek, Vidic is probably as good a chance as any and is a scoring threat
- Distin
- £5.0
- The best value in the Everton line up that should have a good chance of a clean sheet home to Newcastle
- Clyne
- £4.4
- Home to Palace is about as good as it gets for the 4th best defence in the league so far according to my reckoning. clyne is the best value and seems to tick the bonus box as well.
- Kompany
- £6.3
- You could literally see the difference in defence with Kompany involved last week and outstanding value at £6.3m
- Wilson
- £4.5
- Great value and plays in midfield but classified as a defender. The Norwich attack has looked fairly blunt and Stoke although a little hit and miss in defence were fantastic home to City in GW4
- Michu
- £9.0
- Back to his best and probably the best scoring midfielder at the moment
- Mirallas
- £7.3
- OK its 1 return in 5 but home to Newcastle is a good a chance as any to score your first. Great underlying stats and things will come right
- Özil
- £10.4
- I’m still sceptical about a player who relys virtually totally on assists but you cant ague with 20 points in 2 games. Worth a punt though given his start
- Lallana
- £6.0
- Saints go to midfielder who plays high up the pitch and can score and create. Home to crystal palace is a great place to open his account
- Walters
- £6.3
- With the Norwich defence misfiring away from home, Walters is consistently the greatest midfield threat. Should also have pens if his opening day miss hasn’t seen him relieved of them
- Giroud
- £9.1
- On fire at the moment with 4 goals and an assist in 5 games even if he wasn’t on the mark against Stoke. Swansea look vulnerable at home and Giroud the best option for goals
- Rooney
- £10.8
- My top captain choice assuming RVP is a gametime risk. Whether behind Hernandez or in front of Welbeck or Kagawa this proven goal scorer has got to be a great option for the home game to WBA
- Suárez
- £10.9
- Should start after the game against United went so well for him and the previous game without him against saints was such as disaster. Best striker last year after RVP
