fantasy premier league – my imaginary wildcard team for making money during the International break

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s a team I’ve put together  trying to concentrate on the players who have been most transferred in over the gameweek in order that you make as much money as you can over the international break but you also end up with a reasonably sustainable team at the end.  I have to stress its not the team I would have its more to assist you in some of the choices you will make.  I’ve personally not put the value of my team at the top of my agenda

Here’s the team plus mo of transfers in and the players ranking of most transferred in player for that position.  I’ve also tried to get coverage of different teams so have avoided double coverage in attacking areas.  If the players are already in my existing team that’s the value they have.  If the rules are like last year then players can only rise £0.3m in any one gameweek. Giroud as I write this is the only player to have risen £0.2m

Liverpool

Mignolet
£5.6  transfers in 57k.   Rank of GKs most transferred in:  1
Good fixtures, good defence and good value in relation to the rest of the defence now Toure is out and his place is in doubt with the Sakho transfer
Southampton
Remove player i
Boruc
£4.5  transfers in:  11k.  Rank 3
good defence even if only 1 clean sheet so far.  The best of the £4.5k GKs
Chelsea
Remove player i
Ivanovic
£6.5    Tranfers in:  31k.  Rank 5th
ok fixtures ease with 12th.  defence looks reasonably solid with 2 clean sheets so far.  Ivanovic is expensive but should rotate less and goals will increase bonus points.  I would prefer a CB but difficult to guarantee starts with rotation for either of the 3 of Luiz Terry and Cahill
Man City

Zabaleta
£6.3   transfers in: 51k  Rank 2nd
Fixture ease ranking of 18th and a pretty shaky defence although the return of Komany and the new CB in the next few gameweeks should stabilise things.  Personally I would go for an Arsenal defender here (but no one is buying)  due to fixtures and because I think Flamini will assist the Arsenal defence.  He’s not a glamorous signing but his tackling, organisation and general aggression will help Arsenal as it did noticeably against Spurs
Tottenham

Dawson
£5.0  transfers in:  17k  Rank 9
Great fixtures with no 2 in fixture ease which is why I’m going for Dawson despite the fact that no one else is.
Norwich

Whittaker
£4.2  transfers in 45k . Rank 3
Bassong returned and Martin went to the bench not Whittaker so his place looks assured for the moment.  Norwich looked the home defence of last year against Saints and although I’m still sceptical that everything is rosy at this price he’s good value.  Personally I would still go for Turner for CB bonus and goal potential
Everton

Coleman
£5.4  transfers in 56k.  Rank 1
The bandwagon from GW1 rolls on.  OK fixtures at a fixture ease ranking of 11.  A defence that has really performed very well with 2 clean sheets and fantastic underlying stats.  At the moment the price differential means I would probably go for CB Distin for bonus and value.  Distin has some Alcaraz risk when he’s match fit but its one I would probably take at the moment although after the Chelsea game
Man City

Silva
£9.2   transfers in 14 k.   rank 16
the 2 most transferred in mids are YYT and Ozil.  I’ve talked about them in previous posts.  Ozil will be mainly an assist based player so questionable on bonus and Giroud looks the better bet with goals at the moment.   YYT plays too deep and wont get free kicks like he has every week.   so I’ve chosen Silva for City coverage
Chelsea

Hazard
£9.3   transfers in:  17k  Rank  14
Similar comments to Silva.  Still the best midfield Chelsea coverage although lamps has more transfers in.  Need to monitor an injury scare.
Hull City

Brady
£5.1   transfers in:  41k  Rank  5
Has pens and a fairly attacking midfield position although on the flank.  Good home cheap rotation option for midfield.
Everton

Barkley
£4.7   transfers in 37k  Rank 8
the bandwagon rolls on.  good attacking position for a cheap mid rotation.  Has some gametime risk when Gibson returns but I still think he will hold his place.
Norwich

Redmond
£5.0   transfers in:  38k  Rank 7
Had a great performance against Saints.  Plays quite wide but a reasonable cheap midfield rotation option.  I would probably prefer JWP for set piece duties
Arsenal
Remove player i
Giroud
£8.8    transfers 130k  rank 1
3 goals in 3 games great underlying stats and fixtures to come plus one of the worlds most creative midfielders to lay on goals for you.  What more could you ask for.
Liverpool
Remove player i
Sturridge
£9.2  transfers in 114k  rank 2
3 games 3 goals and the best fixtures to come of any team.  Hasn’t been as convincing in underlying stats in every game but still good enough to be the best Liverpool coverage by some distance
Aston Villa
Remove player i
Benteke
£9.1 transfers in  59k  Rank 3
3 goals as well and great performances and stats against difficult defences.  Fixtures aren’t great but he has quality to score against anyone
