fantasy premier league – Keith Spencer looks at maximising the upcoming fixture schedule and DGW22

The fixture Groups

When I look at the upcoming schedule I have broken down the fixtures into three separate groups.

GW21-22 and GWs 23-26 and then the totals of the groups of games

The reason for this schedule wise is that the following happens:

Group 1. GW21 and GW22 are close together and have very limited time in between games.

Group 2. After GW22 there are a lot of games with rotation and possible replays:

Jan 5-8 FA Cup 3rd Round

Jan 9-10 EFL Cup Semi-finals Round 1 (CHE, ARS, MCI)

Jan 13-15 GW23

Jan 16-17 FA Cup 3rd Round Replays

Jan 20-22 GW24

Jan 23-24 EFL Cup Semi-finals Round 2 (CHE, ARS, MCI)

Jan 26-28 FA Cup 4th Round

Jan 30-31 GW 25

Feb 3-4 GW 26

Group 3 is  the totals of the groups of games

After this regular play resumes and then we have Champions league Final 16 / Europa final 32 to deal with so we will attack this possibly in a later article if the interest is there.

Ranking the fixtures and DGW22

So what I have done is ranked each of the next 6 fixtures looking at the home and away statistics of each team this far with a look also at possible rotation as well as time between each game. For instance let’s look at Arsenal. Arsenal is the 3rd best Home team behind MU and MC; however, they are also the 9th best away team. So I have broken down each division of teams in 5 categories. 1-4 gets a 5, 5-8, gets a 4 and so on.

So from the table below, HOME team is in caps, I am thinking of for GW21 I am staying put for an extra transfer for GW22. I am planning on getting in minimum 2 Tottenham attackers (Kane + 1, Eriksen I am predicting more points than Alli but might take Alli or Son as a differential) and at least 1 West Ham attacker probably Arnie.

After Tottenham, West Ham  have hud, BOU, CPL, bha, and WAT. After GW22 depending on their performance I might even add another player. That is a run that is the best over the next 6 weeks from GW 23 to GW27. The next best run goes to MCI and BHA. The worst runs are SWA, NEW, and BUR.

So the major decision for me as I am still a little behind in most my leagues is to take a minimum 4 point hit GW22 and possibly 8. I do believe that it is easily possible if Sterling plays against WAT he could possibly outscore all of the WHM option even though they have a DGW.

I have Morata and Hazard so I am hoping they pay off for me this week before I get rid of possibly both of them next week.
