Fantasy Premier League, Preseason

Here’s the 4th and last of our fantasy premier league lineups articles where we give the potential lineups for GW1. Having moved alphabetically through Arsenal to Sunderland were now on to Swansea to West Ham.  We give you where we think the potential lineups are at the moment and give some comments on player options plus their first 6 fixtures. This will help you design your GW1 team.  We’ll also refresh these in the last week.

So here are the potential lineups with gaps where there is uncertainty. Things do change quickly especially as there’s alot of games this weekend so we’ll keep refreshing them.

Swansea

fpl...Swansea31.7

Possibly the most difficult team at the moment.  The amount of tinkering last season, the Williams and Taylor Euro factor makes it impossible to predict. I expect 1 defender will at least become certain and as everyone except Williams is £4.5m or under whoever that becomes looks an option.  £7.5m mids Siggy with set pieces and Ayew playing as striker (pending someone being bought) are the only options anyway in attack.  Good first 2 fixtures

First 6 fixtures:

Burnley (A)
Hull (H)
Leicester (A)
Chelsea (H)
Southampton (A)
Man City (H)

Watford

fpl...watford31.7

Not sure they will play 3-5-2 but it was the formation of the last friendly.  Cathcart at the moment seems the solid £4.5m defensive option although Holebas as a LWB £4.5m option has the potential.  However, one of the 4 RBs could play LB?  Then it’s a case of fwds Igahlo £7.5m or Deeney £7.0m as the cheapish striker.  Ighalo’s returns dipped so much towards the end of last season that Deeney with pens seems the safer option.  Tough fixtures

Southampton (A)
Chelsea (H)
Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)

WBA

fpl...wba31.7

If Swansea were the hardest then WBA have been the easiest to predict.  No fancy rotation here from Pulis just down to business preparing. £4.5m GK Foster is definitely an option as is £4.5m CB McAuley.  Further forward is a bit trickier due to the defensive nature of the team.  At a push £6.5m forwards Rondon and Berahino.  Again if you’re searching £5.5m mid Phillips.  £4.5m mid Fletcher is one of the safer midfield bench options who is capable of the odd goal here and there.

Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (H)
Middlesbrough (H)
Bournemouth (A)
West Ham (H)
Stoke (A)

West Ham

fpl...westHam31.7

West Ham having played in the Europa League are a bit more predictable than most teams although injuries and the absence of Payet confuse the situation somewhat.  It’s a big squad and will get bigger if they make it through the qualifying rounds of the EL.  Byram at £4.5m could be good value in defence if he can hold the vacant spot LB resulting from Cresswells injury.  Hes young and he’s naturally an RB so questionable.  Apart from that £5.5m Feghouli seems a good option although what happens if Bilic buys an RB and Antonio moves forward is questionable.  Carroll at £6.5m is a cheap striker option with Sakho injured and possibly persona non grata after recent dissent

Chelsea (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Man City (A)
Watford (H)
West Brom (A)
Southampton (H)
