fantasy premier league match analysis – game week 16 Saturday part 1

Gameweek analysis

Here’s the first part of the fantasy premier league analysis of Saturdays matches for game week 16

Swansea 3 Norwich 4

Well part 1 of my worry over putting Michu as my captain and not taking a 4 point hit for Sessegnon is at least over.  What can you say about this guy, 2 goals, he’s  an absolute lethal finisher who can score no matter what the fixture line up.  A goal and 2 assists from Snodgrass was also impressive.  He’s been around the shooting stats for midfielders and is the go to player for Norwich in the midfield over Hoolahan at the moment. 2 were from free kicks which is a further addition to his armoury

defensive stats

swanseas were ok despite the score.  Norwich’s after being so good were absolutely hopeless stats.

player shooting stats

Michu monstered the stats.  Followed by Graham,  Snodgrass and Bradley Johnson.

Pen Box touches were Michu and Graham

Chances created

Snodgrass followed by Davies De Guzman and Dyer.

Most forward midfielders

Michu and Pilkington

performances by players owned by more than 10% of fantasy premier league teams

Michu – fantastic in the scoring and shooting stats

Dyer  – 1 assist good chances created stats but no goal threat

Routledge – relatively quiet all round in the context of this game

Sunderland 1 Chelsea 3

Its interesting that Torres was 9th in the last 6 shooting stats to show that despite the stick he’s been given he was improving and today the result with 2 goals and an assist

defensive stats

Fantastic defensive stats from Chelsea.  They deserved a CS.  Sunderlands were also good despite the score

player shooting stats

Torres was the only one worth mentioning

Pen Box touches were Torres by a long way.  Way behind were Wickham and Hazard

Chances created

No one produced stats worth mentioning

Most forward midfielders

Sess and Johnson.  Hazard for Chelsea

Cech, Ivanovic and Cole –  Chelsea deserved a CS and there will be many more with defensive stats like this.  Interesting no Azpilicueta today.

Hazard – got forward but a quiet performance stat wise.  The assist wouldn’t change my mind about him.  Didn’t take the pen

Mata – Scored again but it was his only shot. Goals haven’t been warranted by the stats so still some proving to do in my eyes

Torres  – fantastic performance 2 goals and an assist with stats to match.

Arsenal 2 WBA 0

2 Arteta penalties bot pretty dubious led the way for Arsenal who bounced back from some poor results

defensive stats

Don’t listen to anyone who criticises the Arsenal defence, stats dont lie and this was another great defensive stats performance.  WBAs was abysmal

player shooting stats

Gervinho had the best stats.  Long way back was Podolski and Wilshire

Pen Box touches   were Gervinho, Wilshire and McAuley

Chances created

Brunt followed by Wilshire

Most forward midfielders

The Ox and Gervinho.  Gera for WBA

performances by players owned by more than 10% of fantasy premier league teams

Mertesacker  – this defence over the next few games will keep CS’s but with Koscielny back next week my money would be with Gibbs

Cazorla – got the most dubious penalty assist you will ever see but after the statistical promise of last week it was another disturbingly quiet performance.   He’s totally out of the shooting stats for the last 6 and really it seems that Wilshires runs forward are having a detrimental affect on him getting forward and the lack of penalty box touches is eye watering to say the least.  Only fixtures keep him in my team, nothing else.
