Gameweek analysis

Here’s the fantasy premier league match analysis gameweek25  – Fulham v Man U & Wigan v Southampton

Fulham 0 Man U 1

Ok defensive stats from Utd  lthough I would have expected better.  The rotation of defence goes on with Vidic rested. Rafael returned though which was a good sign for his fantasy premier league owners.

Fulham had no Berba though which blunted their attack, although they did have their chances to score

Rooney who scored the winner, followed by Ruiz,  had the best shooting stats.  It was then Evra followed by Rodallega and Nani

RVP was noteably absent from this.  His stats were far inferior although he’s still the furtherest forward player and central so its hard to know what’s different.  He has gone 2 games with no returns this year but then exploded back in to his normal form.  Personally I don’t see the switch just yet and I think even with the great fixtures both is too much of a risk.  Needs monitoring though.

I personally see Nani dropping out if Young returns next week as expected

Cleverly led the chances created stats but is too deep to be a option for me.

Wigan 2 Southampton 2

Great defensive stats from Southampton despite 2 goals.  There is real reason to be positive about the new coaching regime and defensive strength.  With clyne and Shaw bargains at around £4.0m they are definitely worth investing in.

Poor stats from Wigan though who were another victim (like Utd to an extent last week) to Saints pressing game

Di Santo, Lambert and Rodriguez led the shooting stats

Wigan have a pretty ordinary fixture list coming but Di santo is showing himself as an option.  However, I think Kone will blunt this though and become the main man on his return from ACON

It’s now 5 goals in 8 and 2 assists from Lambert.  He hasn’t shown at all in the shooting stats though which  makes me nervous so I feel this run will end

Rodriguez is classified as a striker but plays more like a winger so not an option for me despite the impressive 2 assists.

Lambert, Beaujesour and Schneiderlin led the chances created.  Schneiderlin is a safe filler at £4.5m and although plays deep, has security of game time and pops up with the odd goal.  Great for Sky Sports fantasy football as he gets the passing and tackling bonus regularly.

Maolney who scored was Wigans most forward midfielder. Although he didn’t appear in the stats for me he is the best Wigan midfield option at £4.8m due to his forward position.

Puncheon was Southampstons most forward.  No stats here to talk about but still the best filler midfield option although a temporary blip with no returns in 3.

dejagh Ruiz and Duff were all equal in forward position.  nani for Utd
