Here’s the fantasy premier league match analysis gameweek 32 Part 1 – WBA v Arsenal, Reading v Southampton, Norwich v Swansea & Stoke v Aston Villa
WBA 1 Arsenal 2
2 goals from Rosicky assisted by Ramsey and Gervinho. WBA response from Morrison assisted by Long
Defensive stats: Poor stats from Arsenal slightly distorted by the sending off of Mertesacker at 70 minutes and the assault on goal that followed. WBAs weren’t great but better
Player shooting stats: Rosicky by a mile followed by Lukaku despite the perplexing 35 minute gametime. Long then Morrison.
Pen box touches: Long Lukaku Giroud and Morrison
Chances created: Brunt
Most advanced midfielders for each team: Thomas wide and Morrison centrally for WBA. Gervinho then Rosicky then Cazorla not really what you want to see before an Arsenal DGW where Cazorla is a potential captain option.
Most involved players in attacking positions for each team: Cazorla and Rosicky. Long, Ridgewell and Morrison all had cases.
Comments on important fantasy premier league players:
Why Lukaku didn’t start is a mystery to me, absolutely ridiculous considering the impression he made.
Cazorla had a disturbingly quiet game. 1 shot from outside the box and 2 chances created, no pen box touches and 3rd in the ranking of average position. Not good.
Giroud was also disappointing although he still had 2 off target shots in the box 1 of which was a header. You expect little involvement and no creating of chances but you expect more shots and pen box touches. Also not good
Gervinho was also disappointing.
The Arsenal defence did nothing to convince anyone they were worth investing in.
The Arsenal games are at home which we can only hope will produce better attacking stats from the key players. Only Rosicky produced what you would expect and he by far exceeded expectations
Reading 0 Southampton 2
Goals from Rodriguez and Lallana assisted by Lambert and Rodriguez gave Saints the win here
Defensive stats: Saints stats were ok but nothing to write home about. Reading gave away far too many good chances.
Player shooting stats: Rodriguez followed by Le Fondre and Ramirez
Pen box touches: Steven Davis followed by Rodriguez, Morrison and HRK , then Lambert
Chances created: Lambert
Most advanced midfielders: Guthrie and HRK. Ramirez slightly ahead of Steven Davis
Most involved players in attacking positions for each team: Lambert. Gunter, McAnuff and Guthrie
Comments on important fantasy premier league players:
Rodriguez continues his scoring run deservedly on his underlying stats. Lambert continues to be quiet shooting wise but creates chances. Lallana was sub and only had 31 minutes so no stats of note.
HRK is my only Reading player of choice and today he was unusually quiet.
Norwich 2 Swansea 2
Turner and Snodgrass for Norwich both assisted by Bennett.
Defensive stats: Ok from Swansea. Not good from Norwich.
Player shooting stats: Michu’s stats were unreal. As were Luke Moores. Only other player to register was Turner
Pen box touches: Kamara Michu Moore Snodgrass
Chances created: Bennet then De Guzman and Routledge
Most advanced midfielders for each team: Bennett and Michu
Most involved players in attacking positions for each team: Michu and Tiendalli. Kamara
Comments on important fantasy premier league players:
The value of underlying stats is shown here as despite not scoring Michu was still getting great shooting stats and was always going to get back to scoring ways.
Stoke City 1 Aston Villa 3
Kightly assisted by Adam for Stoke. Agbonlahor Lowton and Benteke for Villa assisted by Lowton and N’Zogbia
Defensive stats: Both had similar okish stats
Player shooting stats: Agbonlahor and Jones. Followed by Bowery and Benteke
Pen box touches: Jones by a mile, then Huth Walters and Jerome
Chances created: Benteke and Etherington
Most advanced midfielders: Villa had 4 players classified as strikers in fantasy premier league so no one counts really. Stoke was Etherington on the flank
Most involved players in attacking positions for each team: Shotton and Benteke
Comments on important fantasy premier league players:
Benteke continued shooting, creating chances and having a high level of involvement in the game and then producing output.
