fantasy premier league midfielders – GW27 “ones to watch”

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s our fantasy premier league best midfielders article “ones to watch” for GW27.  The players are ranked although there’s a table of stats, some narrative on prospects and the next 6 fixtures to help you make your own assessment.  Remember it’s a blank for Spurs, Chelsea, Leicester and QPR in GW27 with a doublegameweek for Spurs and QPR to follow in DGW28

fantasy premier league midfielders – GW27 “ones to watch”

Here’s the table of stats with a key underneath if you haven’t seen it before.  The players as normal have been ranked on their returns, consistency, form and upcoming fixtures.  I haven’t adjusted the rankings specifically for the double game weeks and you’ll be aware that Spurs and QPR have a DGW28.  However you can use the information and stats to make decisions about your transfers with them coming up.  For example I will be getting Eriksen in for DGW28 irrespective of his ranking in this table as his big point potential makes him too dangerous not to own in a double gameweek.  However his inconsistency and returns are not up to the players above him in the ranking hence his no 9 position.  Hopefully thats clear.

Sanchez

A 19 point FPL haul masks the form column and 3 consecutive blanks which he’s served up.  Still a hard player to ignore given his ownership and his season stats and definite class.  Whether the relentless fixtures are getting to him remains the question.  Whether the return to fitness of Ozil, Giroud and to less an extent Walcott has diluted his contribution also remains to be seen.  The good news is the last couple of games hasn’t seen a significant drop off of his underlying stats which gives hope that it’s a blip.  A shot if it went a foot slightly the other way in the breakaway at  Palace and we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.  Good fixtures.

Everton (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (H)
Burnley (A)

Silva

A brilliant 17 point haul in the 5-0 win at Newcastle rewarded the faith of his owners after a little patchy form.  His consistency has improved to 50% but the points unusually have come in streaks.  Reasonable all round underlying shooting and creating chances stats but whether he has the ability to keep scoring with those shooting stats is the big question.  Very good fixtures after Liverpool in GW27

Liverpool (A)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A)
West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)

Hazard

Been consistent this season compared to last while still popping up with the double figure FPL point hauls. The sobering thought though is that the shooting stats in the last 4 games have completely fallen off a cliff.  However still ownership is so high among the active players and his double figure point haul capability is so strong that he’s a very  dangerous player to ditch.  A blank in GW27 but will have a DGW34.  Has pens

Gameweek 27 –
West Ham (A)
Southampton (H)
Hull (A)
Stoke (H)
QPR (A)

Cazorla

Playing deeper recently but over the last 4 games has still seen his shooting stats look ok.  Despite that it’s still only 1 goal (a pen) at Palace in his last 3.  While pens are a an asset and there are good fixtures coming up his position and shooting stats will be a crucial watchout over the next few weeks

Everton (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (H)
Burnley (A)

Ozil

Despite a blank at Palace has been in fantastic form in the 4 games since coming back from injury with 2 goals and 2 assists.  However that contrasts directly with his opening 6 games which only saw 1 goal and 1 assist.  Has been playing left rather than his favoured central position although fairly advanced.  Underlying shooting and creating chances stats in those 4 games have been good though which gives hope that it can continue.  Fixtures are certainly good as well.

West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (H)

YYT

A blank in a 5 goal thrashing isn’t exactly a recipe for transferring him in but that is exactly what he produced.  However you cant criticise his 3 goals in 3 games form before that although he could be more consistent than he has been so far this season.  Good fixtures coming up

Liverpool (A)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A)
West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)

Di Maria

Reasonable form and consistency over the season and reasonable would also be a good description of the fixtures.  However still fairly patchy returns considering his talent and it’s a bit of a show of faith thats required.  3 assists in the last 2 games and set piece involvement has certainly helped that

Sunderland (H)
Newcastle (A)
Spurs (H)
Liverpool (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Man City (H)

Sterling

As Sturridge becomes fully fit he will lose the striker position but still will play advanced enough to be an attacking threat.  Good form, ok consistency but mixed fixtures with City next.  Excellent shootng stats it’s just how much Sturridge will dilute this

Man City (H)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)
Arsenal (A)
Newcastle (H)

Eriksen

Despite the ranking, a DGW28 (after a blank in GW27) will see a flood of transfers in.  If you’ve seen my previous articles I dont need to remind you how dangerous he can be.  No one has more 10+ FPL point hauls and only Sanchez and Hazard can match that number.  Howver the reverse of this is that his consistency return rate of a goal or assist in 35% of matches is appalling.  A big bonus is the good fixtures also after the DGW.  Has a good share of set pieces and excellent at getting in the box but can also shoot effectively from outside

Gameweek 27 –
GW28 Swansea (H)
GW28 QPR (A)
Man Utd (A)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Walters

This is about reasonable consistency and form for his price but mainly about some fairly tasty fixtures coming up for a guy who seems to get it done on his own ground.  Seems to have lost pens to Moses though which is a blow

Hull (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Chelsea (A)
West Ham (A)
