As you can see, his record in that league is impressive, particularly last season where he scored over a goal a game. However it has to be looked at in the context of the leagues strength. His Europa and Champions league record though is also good as is his early Croatia International record which started in 2014.
He’s been described as an excellent finisher and a versatile all round forward who can lead the line or drop deep to collect the ball. His main weakness is described as his lack of pace.
As for his propsects. He’s only made 1 sub appearance in the premier league but played 73 minutes impressively against Spurs in the Leicester FA Cup win. He should have won a pen but was controversially booked for simulation. Given manager Pearsons lack of faith in Nugent and Ulloa as evidenced by Pearson’s tinkering with their gametime (although Nugent has started recently) he should hold down a regular place in the team fairly immediately. Unfortuantely the fixtures aren’t particularly welcoming and would question whether the gamble is worth it even at the generous price of £5.5m.
