Statistics

Here’s the stats for his last 3 years for Valencia.  There’s also a comparison between players of the same £5.5m price currently in the league

His International stats for Algeria are impressive.  In 40 games he’s scored 11 goals.  A 28% strike rate.

His fantasy prospects

Lets start with gametime.  The RW position is a bit of a complicated one for West Ham.  Last season the position was held successfully by Antonio until he moved back to become a RB.  After that Sakho played it as did Lanzini so there’s no one holding that position.  Also the position was complicated by West Ham playing a number of different formations.  To make the situation even more complicated is that West Ham have signed another RW in Gokhan Tor.

The potential enlightenment could come in the Europa League qualification games, 1 of which is tonight.  That didn’t help last season though when West Ham didn’t play a full team.  The one advantage Feghouli has is that he has been in great form in pre-season and that will hold him in good stead.  The injury to Lanzini and the issues with Sakho do also put him in a good position to take the place on the right.  However the comments I’ve seen  seem to show that he wont be taking the same approach

His stats are impressive overall for his price. Certainly if you compare him to other players at that price his stats are good assuming you can look past last season.

Last year was the outlier with his stats being rather poor.   That was a season interrupted by injury which does mitigate those stats to some extent.  He’s more of an assist player and will be a crosser of the ball rather than a goal scorer.  That could be worse with Andy Carroll a possible target depending on future signings of strikers.  He hasn’t got a great goal scoring record and last season his shots on target ratio was particularly poor.

The opening games are mixed.  After the opening game things get easier
