Fantasy Premier League, New player profiles

Here’s a Part 2 of our short articles giving basic details on some late summer transfer window details.  As for the first we’ll look at their last seasons record as well as international pedigree if applicable.  We’ll also speculate as to their place in the new teams line up and who will be left out as a result.  We’ll also look at the gap left in the team they’ve exited if it’s a premier league team.  We’ll also give you their FPL cost.

Anders Lindegaard (Manchester United) Undisclosed to WBA

The 31 year old GK Danish international (5 games) played 5 games for the Man Utd U21 team last season

Hard to say what his prospects are at WBA.  While on the one side it’s hard to think he went to WBA to be 3rd choice which is what he would be behind Myhill and Foster if he didn’t start.  However with Sam Johnstone playing ahead of him for Man Utd and no real games last season the writing was on the wall and any exit was needed.  Impossible to say whether he will start.  £4.5m in FPL

Jonny Evans (Manchester United) Undisclosed to WBA

The 27 year old CB Northern Ireland international (42 games 1 goals) played 19 games for Man Utd in all competitions last season with 1 goal and 0 assists at a goal or assist at every 1088 minutes

Impossible to believe he wouldn’t have moved without some guarantee of gametime.  Lescott leaving for Villa will help his prospects.  It seems likely to me that Olsson will be the casulty with McAuley becoming Evans partner.  He’s a £4.8m defender in FPL which wiill make him the cheapest of the defenders

Virgil van Dijk (Celtic) Undisclosed to Southampton

The 24 year old CB Dutch U21 international (3 games 0 goals) played 35 games for Celtic last season with 4 goals and 6 assists at a goal or assist at every 315 minutes

Seems unquestionable that he won’t start given the reported fee.  Last season Alderweireld and Fonte formed the CB partnership so I expect Yoshida who’s played all 4 of the opening games to return to the bench.  He’s a £5.5m defender in FPL which seems very expensive given Southampton don’t seem the defensive force they were last season.  Cedric Soares seems better value at £5.0m

Victor Moses (Chelsea) Loan to West Ham (injury doubt)

The 24 year old CF Nigerian  international (24 games 7 goals) played 19 games for Stoke last season with 3 goals and 4 assists at a goal or assist at every 206 minutes which isn’t particularly impressive.  His FPL minutes per point last season was also a pretty unimpressive 21.8 minutes

West Ham now have Lanzini, Amalfitano, Antonio and now Moses for wide positions so again difficult to say whether he will start.  He’s good value in FPL at £5.3m as a midfielder.  He has an injury at the moment so needs monitoring over the international break

Michail Antonio (Nottingham Forest) Undisclosed to West Ham

The 25 year old LM Englishman  played 46 games for Nottingham Forest in the Championship last season with 14 goals and 14 assists at a goal or assist  every 140 minutes which is pretty impressive.

Like Moses very hard to predict whether he will start and he is an expensive midfielder at £6.0m but these are good stats.  Although Ritchie of Bournemouth had amazing stats in the Championship and has blanked in the first 4 game weeks

Fabio Borini (Liverpool) Undisclosed to Sunderland

The 24 year old LW Italian  international (1 game 0 goals) played 18 games for Liverpool last season in all competitions with 1 goals and 2 assists at a goal or assist at every 213 minutes which isn’t particularly impressive.  His FPL minutes per point last season was also a pretty unimpressive 21.0 minutes.  His best season was for Sunderland in 13/14 with 7 goals and 3 assists at a goal and assist every 214 minutes and an FPL point every 22.8 minutes

Borini could operate up front alone or as part of a front 3.  It depends what formation Advocaat starts with.  There are alot of forward options though.  He’s £5.4m in FPL compared to Defoe at £5.5m who’s also been switched around positions.  Fixtures aren’t too bad
