News

Here’s the fantasy premier league news catch up for Tuesday 10th September 2013 including Carroll, K Toure, Jones, Petric and Hazard

Andy Carroll

Another injury for the £15m striker. Still tests to come but some papers are speculating that it could be for the rest of the year.  You’ll see West Ham below already have a solution other than Maiga who hasn’t impressed and missed a sitter against Stoke.

K Toure

Confident he will be back for the Swansea GW4 game. No quotes from the man himself so this is according to the Liverpool Echo. Will he be picked though? Skrtel played well against Man Utd and with expensive signing Sakho joining will he get the CB spot.
This Liverpool defensive conundrum is in addition to the potential cheapie Wisdom coming in at RB as he did last season. . Additionally Kelly has played RB before and he’s only £4.3m.  I think its a wait and see policy for everyone. I certainly wouldn’t be selling Toure at this time. I would wait for more clarification either of the injury or his place in the team via the Swansea game.
By the way, I hadn’t appreciated Sakho was left footed so interesting to see if he plays next to the same left footed CB in Agger. The fact he’s left footed would also make it unlikely he plays instead of Johnson, really giving Wisdom a good chance of taking his place

Phil Jones

Just what you don’t need before one of the more likely clean sheets of the weekend. An injury doubt to a defender.  Doesn’t sound serious so I wouldn’t sell at the moment.
Apparently Rafael is out of suspension and injury and will be available although that has to be treated with some caution.  Its hard to see what role Jones will play possible as defensive cover but i’m assuming now that Fellaini will be the tackling midfielder which reduces Jones’ attraction.  Hes too expensive to be this for me but I wouldn’t sell before Crystal Palace as long as he has a chance of being fit.

Mladen Petric

The former Fulham striker signed for West Ham on a 1 year deal. With the news that Andy Carroll could be out for the year Petric becomes an interesting option although he doesn’t seem to be in fantasy premier league unless I’m going mad.  Personally I think he will take Maigas place. The only question will be match fitness vs Big Sams desire to get him into the side as soon as possible.
His record for Fulham was ok.  5 goals and 2 assists in 9 starts and 14 sub appearances and a goal or assist every 128 minutes which is Benteke country last year.  will be interesting to see his price and confirmation of how long Carroll is out for

Eden Hazard

This is what a senior member of the Belguim teams medical staff said according to a report in the Daily Mail

There is ‘no reason’ why he could not play a full part in training this week, in readiness for Saturday’s match with Everton.”

Interesting.  Everton away is no easy fixture but Chelsea’s next fixture is home to Fulham and that could be a goal fest.  If he is selected obviously! This unfortunately is an inherit risk of owning Chelsea assets

That’s it
