fantasy premier league news catch up – Wednesday 5 December 2012

News

Here’s the fantasy premier league news of the day for Wednesday 5 December 2012 including Sagna, Mikel, Ruiz, and Champs league plus price rises and falls

Sagna

There’s a story in the daily mail that he feels disrespected in relation to his current offer of a new contract.  It remains to e seen how this affects his game time as there seemed to be an early season correlation between this and Walcott’s playing time.  Jenkinson’s fantasy premier league  owners may just want to wait a couple of weeks before ditching him

Mikel

Signs a new 5 year deal.  This maybe just to make him saleable as it seems as if Romeu is liked by Benitez more and in my mind a far more athletic player but ifyou do have him as a cheapie monitor before selling

Ruiz/Berba

Jol expects him to be back for the GW16 juicy home game to goal leaky Newcastle.  Good news especially for fantasy premier league owners of Berba who benefits from Ruiz’s ability to create chances

Figueroa

Wigan are set to appeal his red card so don sell up yet.  hey have been successful in 2/3  appeals in the last year.  Here’s Martinez in click Lancashire

“It’s difficult to see how a striker is going to score a goal if the ball is divided between two players.

“Both players are allowed to challenge for the ball. As a defender, you are always going to be strong; as a striker, you are going to invite the contact.

“It is shoulder to shoulder for me. What is important is that the contact was shoulder to shoulder, and that’s allowed.

“In the laws of the game, you are allowed to challenge for the position. We will have to look into it if we can appeal for the red card.”

Chelsea Champs League

here’s the Chelsea team that played in the thrashing of the Danish champions

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole (Bertrand 60), Romeu, Ramires (Oscar 65), Hazard, Mata (Ferreira 74), Moses, Torres.

It was a full team and the omission of Oscar for Moses maybe a pointer.  2 goals from Torres will hopefully be a sign for a player who’s stats have improved despite a tricky schedule. Still too early for any BUY signal though

Man U Champs league

here’s the Utd resrve team that played last night with Utd having already secured Group winners status

De Gea, Jones, Wootton, Smalling, Buttner, Powell (Macheda 73), Cleverley (Scholes 45), Giggs (Fletcher 86), Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez.

The notable outcomes were Cleverlys injury which makes him a doubt for the derby and SAF’s praise for  Jones, yet more worry for Rafaels fantasy premier league owners.

SAF in Daily Mail

‘Phil Jones was fantastic and we got exactly what we wanted as far as he was concerned. The more game time players like Smalling and Jones can get, the better it will be.
‘Wayne is now close to full fitness also and hopefully he will be approaching top form come Sunday.

SAF on the Utd site plus some snippets on Kagawa

“We’ll assess Tom in the morning,” the boss told reporters at his post-match press conferece.

“He felt his calf a little but it’s not good news. We’ll see what he’s like in the morning.”

There was better news on Shinji Kagawa, however, who has not featured since 23 October at home to Braga because of a knee injury.

“Shinji is now back and is doing some running,” confirmed Sir Alex. “I don’t know if he’ll make Sunday’s game [against Manchester City]. It might be a bit early for him.

“At least he’s back training and he’ll hopefully join in the football part next Monday.”

 Man City Champs league

City put out a reasonably strong team considering the Sunday Derby and the prospects of going through were slim.

Hart, Maicon, Kompany, Lescott, Nastasic, Barry, Javi Garcia, Nasri (Zabaleta 68), Tevez, Sinclair (Aguero 57), Dzeko (Balotelli 65).

Nothing to be gained apart from doubts over Tevez starting with him playing this week although you would have thought him and Aguero will start.  Zab looks a defeinte starter having being rested

Arsenal Champs league

Very much a reserve team which is all he could have done after the tired message from the weekend.  Giroud not starting gives me faith he will on the weekend though.

Wojciech Szczesny, Sébastien Squillaci, Jernade Meade (Martin Angha, 83), Carl Jenkinson, Thomas Vermaelen, Francis Coquelin, Gervinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tomas Rosicky (Andrey Arshavin, 45), Aaron Ramsey, Marouane Chamakh

Price rises and falls

Michu at £0.3m and Defoe at £0.3m.  Both good buys in my view. 14 other £0.2m rises

A load of £0.1m falls including Bale
