Fantasy premier league news catch up Wednesday November 21

News

Here’s the fantasy premier league news catch up for Wednesday the 21st November including Kagawa, Walcott, Gibbs, Gervinho, Champs league and price rises/falls

Kagawa

According to SAF he will be out for a further 4 weeks.  For those fantasy premier league managers thinking of drafting in Ashey Young or Valencia with the good fixtures the fact that Kagawa wont be in contention for a place on the flank is good news.  He probably wont play in behind RVP now with Rooney taking that spot so the flank is his only option.   Here’s SAF on the subject

“His progress has been quite slow actually.

“He hasn’t started any outside work and, looking now, he may be another four weeks away.

“Overall, he will probably be looking at six to seven weeks since the injury. The first job now is to get him back.”

Walcott +Gibbs and Gervinho

It doesnt look like Walcott will play in the champs league game tonight but the problem according to Wenger is short term.

Here’s what he said in the Daily Mail

‘The injury he got during the game with his shoulder, we have to scan that today and see if there is no damage. He will be out for tomorrow. It should be short-term.
‘We will miss [Andre] Santos as well, who has a muscle strain in his abdomen. The two players coming in the squad are Gervinho and [Kieran] Gibbs.’

So for now Walcott shouldn’t be a buy but a hold until further news.  Gibbs coming back will mean uncertainty over Koscielny and Mertesacker so for the moment the player to buy is Sagna who is good value at £5.4m and has good attacking prospects

Tim Cahill

What?  Is this an MLS news catch up?

No it isn’t its an interesting story in the Daily mail about Cahill wanting to return to Everton in the MLS off season.  There’s no comment from the club and I cant see it going any where but if it did it would cause some doubt over Fellainis advanced role.  As  said its unlikely in my view due to the great season Fellaini is having and the fact that Cahill was unsuccessful in his last year but one to monitor especially as Landon Donovan has done the loan route with Everton before.  Here’s what Cahill said in that article

I know I have a lot more to offer,’ he said.
‘The main thing is that I get to enjoy to MLS but I also get the chance of joining back up in the Premier League and playing in the best league in the world.
‘There is no shadow of a doubt, I am eager to come back.
‘Hopefully something can be done (with Everton). It would be nice but it is not down to me.
‘I have to respect that sometimes the ship has sailed.’

Champs league Tuesday

Below is the Chelsea team that lined up against Juventus.  With Sturridge struggling for fitness Torres was still unable to make the team with hazard in an advanced role.  No clues over the defence with 5 of the defence who normally go in to 4 playing. It will be interesting to see how things develop over the next few weeks. Chelsea have City next so no need to dive in but the team line up for this game should give some clues to the future.

Cech, Ivanovic, Cole, David Luiz, Cahill, Azpilicueta (Moses 60), Ramires, Mata, Oscar, Mikel (Torres 71), Hazard

Heres the United team that faced Galatasary

Lindegaard, Da Silva, Jones, Carrick, Buttner, Anderson (Young 74), Fletcher, Cleverley, Powell (Macheda 74), Welbeck (King 85), Hernandez.

Subs Not Used: Johnstone, Wootton, Cole, Vermijl.

Good news for fantasy premier league owners of RVP Rooney and Valencia ahead of the juicy home game against QPR.  jones playing is competition at CB and at RB going forward and needs monitoring for the affect on Rafael and Evans particularly.

price rises/ falls

Sterling and Suarez have both gone up £0.2m.  I’m a buy on both although Sterlings price is stretching things.  Suarez is pretty essential in my mind although 2 tricky games away to Swansea and Spurs could limit returns although Swanseas defence was awful against Newcastle.  Interestingly only 10 others have £0.1m price rises.  Interestingly Hughes of Fulham and Fellaini who’s suspended

A multitude of players have fallen £0.1m in value but none £0.2m as yet.Interesting ones are Vertonghen and Rooney.
