Here’s the fantasy premier league news catch up with news on David Silva, Vaz Te, BAE, Henderson, ACON and price rises/falls

Vaz Te

Owners of cheapie striker Vaz Te will be disappointed to see that he’s out for 12 weeks when facing a fixture at home to Southampton.  Unfortunately the injury sustained in the game against Arsenal never looked like it was going to be a quick fix.  Big Sam suggests Taylor as the likely option to take his place although assuming Jarvis is now safe at LM this would mean playing Taylor on his “wrong” side.  I can’t see even Big Sam going for Cole and Carroll so Maiga looks to be another option in this position.

Here’s Big Sam on the official site as quoted in the Daily Mail

‘There would have been a slightly quicker option to get him back but we would have been unsure on the stability of the shoulder and it could have been more susceptible to dislocate again,’ Allardyce said, speaking to the club’s official website.
‘We think we’ve chosen the best option to strengthen the shoulder and get him back as quickly as we can.
‘We’ve got some good players ready to step up in place. Matt Taylor has been there and there are others in the squad that haven’t quite played as much such as Gary O’Neil.
‘Whichever option we pick it’s up to them to step up to the mark. They need to provide the attacking opportunities that we need.’

BAE

The Daily Mail are running a story saying that Assou-Ekotto is back in training this week.  No official club statement and no return date is mentioned but fantasy premier league owners or those thinking of purchasing Caulker should tread with caution at this news.  No matter how good his form and AVB’s loyalty to form, its hard to see the situation not ending with BAE at left back and Gallas and Vertonghen as CB’s

African Cup of Nations

Fantasy premier league owners of Demba Ba especially in the Sun Dream Team format are the main beneficiaries of Senegal being kicked out of the ACON.  I’m aiming for a full article on the implications before the transfer window closes for the Sun Dream Team

Henderson

Interesting one this.  Stephen Henderson has gone out on loan to Ipswich.  Granted Jaas has been in great form but reducing your cover for a 37 year old does beg the question. No beneficiaries to this one except Jaas him self for Sun Dream Teamers and TFF players that will probably see Jaas turn out for FA cup games.

David Silva

Limped off in yesterdays Spain vs France clash after 10 minutes. The Daily Mail don’t report the nature of the problem.  Nothing on the City or David Silva twitter site but I will update you when there’s more information.  Any serious injury would surely mean some serious additional game time for Samir Nasri as City start a serious run of good fixtures starting with a home match to Swansea in game week 9.  No rush for the game week 8 game away to WBA.  Nasri would become the leading creator in the City midfield and would surely start virtually all games during any injury period.

Price rises/falls

Many people have been busy gambling on players not getting injured over the international break.  However the real spate of transfers should now take place with the international break over.

No £0.2m rises but 14 £0.1m rises including Ba Suarez Aguero Cazorla and Begovic.  Highest number of transfers in is Routledge at 56k.

A ton of players have fallen £0.1m but no £0.2m falls.  Ones of most relevance to fantasy premier league managers are RVP, Tevez, Silva, Nasri, Kompany and De Gea (now £5.6m).  Highest numbers of transfers out is Fellaini at 67k.

Thats it, the regular posts will come thick and fast between now and Saturday so keep coming to the site
