News

Heres the fantasy premier league news of the day for 4th October 2012 including England, champions league games, Bardsley Simpson Berbatov and price rises/falls

England

The England Squad for the upcoming qualifiers is

Fraser Forster, Joe Hart, John Ruddy; Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Kieran Gibbs, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, Ryan Shawcross, Kyle Walker; Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Steven Gerrard, Adam Johnson, Aaron Lennon, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott; Andy Carroll, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Welbeck.

Obviously from a fantasy premier league managers perspective you would like all your players resting to avoid injury and be less in need of rotation and rest.  However there are very few players in the premier league who aren’t involved in internationals these days so from that perspective I dont see the make up of the sqaud as a big deal

Champs league

Both City and Arsenal played their full teams and there was very little’ if any, rotation.   Depending on whether you see it as rested or dropped the 2 most notable players in the line ups were Nastasic for Lescott and Dzeko for Tevez.  Tevez you could probaly jusify as rotation.   The Nastasic thing is more disturbing for fanatsy premier league owners of Lescott who definitely wont want to miss out on a potential cean sheet against Sunderland on the weekend.  Nastasic isnt even cheap at £5.5m.  If you dont want to pay £7.4m for Kompany then Hart at £7.0m is the most secure route in to the defence which I still believe will come right. Im sticking with Zabaleta partly becayuse Ive got more things to fix in my fantasy premier league team but also because Maicon as not worked out so far and Richards, I think,  will take a little while more before he plays.  Unfortuantely though I can see a rotation this week as he has had a good run in the side.

Gervinho and Hart were the form winners from the games.

Bardsley

Back in training but unlikely to play until after the International break in GW8.  Sunderlands fixtures start to improve in a few weeks so at £4.8m he looks reasonable value compared to others in the team and offers some attacking potential.  One to monitor.

Simpson

Back in the squad for tonights Europa game.  Fantasy premier league owners of cheapie Perch should be worried.  He also looks reasonable value at £4.8m, again as fixtures will start to improve in a few weeks.

Berbatov

Hard to take it seriously but apparently there is something on his facebook page which suggests he is trying to be fit for the Saints game.  Physio room has him back for game week 8.  Dont sell until its clearer, its not a fixture to miss

Adebayor

A report in the Evening Standard suggests Adebayor could be fit enough to be in the squad for the Villa game.  Fantasy premier league owners of Defoe shouldnt be too worried as his form has been fantastic and it seems unthinkable Adebayor would start ahead of him

Price rises and falls

Only Demba Ba has increased by £0.2m so far this week.  16 other players have gone up £0.1m

Berba has joined Tevez in dropping £0.2m.  It would be a blow for the 55,000 fantasy premier league managers who have sold Berba if his oxygen mask did get him fit for the Saints game
