fantasy premier league news of the day – 8 September 2012

News

Heres the news round up for the on a quiet day, 8 September with the now regular update on price rises plus Phil Jones, John Terry and Ashley Cole plus World Cup Qualifiers

Fantasy premier league price rises and falls

No news is good news at the moment so no changes to the players we were monitoring

Phil Jones

The Daily Mail has reported that Phil Jones will be out for up to 2 months with a knee injury which would mean no return to November.  he sustained the injury when returning to training after recovering from his back complaint.  Assuming he is back in November that will mean he would have been out for 6 months.  Although Evans Ferdy and Vidic will all be available for the home game to Wigan.  So unless SAF decides to play Evans or Valencia at RB that gives Rafael no competition until game week 7.  That may not be significant given the tricky games in that time and  Uniteds basic lack of clean sheets but should mean no huge requirement to sell due to other players coming back

Cole and Terry

It looks like both will miss Tuesdays game and QPR’s away game also has to be a doubt for both.  Great for Bertrand and Cahill/Luiz owners from a game time perspective and probably inadvertently for hazard owners as goals will more likely to  be needed if the defence is weakened. Not great for Ivanovic owners who will be holding the costly defender with less clean sheet prospects.

World Cup Qualifiers

Nikica Jelavic scored the winner against Macedonia giving a good feeling to his fantasy premier league owners as Everton go on to a riun of sustained good fixtures

All but 4 of the Belguim side are available in fantasy premier league and goals came from Kompany and Vertonghen which will improve the mood of their fantasy premier league managers who will hope that some attacking returns can make up for the lack of clean sheets.  Bales fantasy premier league owners would have been pleased with his performance in the match.  He was in great form.

Cazorla kept up his good form with a goal in Spains friendly against Saudi Arabia. Poor old David Silva came on as a sub.  Is it only me who thinks he needs a rest?

Luiz, Oscar and Ramires all went to Brazil for the friendly against South Africa which may make them more rotation prone (Oscar excepted as he obviously isn’t starting yet)

Snodgrass played well in the draw with Serbia keeping him on the radar for fantasy premier league managers.

Diaby continued his form with the winner away to Finland

In some of the South American ties which are obviously subject to greater travel and therefore more likely rest.  Suarez didnt play for Uraguay.  Valencia played for Ecuador and Zabaleta was on the bench weirdly for Argentina. Alcaraz played for Paraguay.

Finally Defoe Milner Baines and 2 from Lampard gave a training ground win in Moldova
