THE BEST VALUE AND ATTACKING DEFENDERS

So here’s the table. Effectively I’ve ranked the defences based on their defensive stats strength. Added to the table is the rank of easiness of the upcoming next fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season.  I’ve then given you the best value defender and the best attacking defender. Values are as of Thursday. Use this link if you’re interested in what the top 10 FPL managers I follow have as defenders

TRANSFER SUGGESTIONS

Looking at the optimum combination of strong defence at an appropriate value, good fixtures and good odds then the best transfers for this gameweek in my view are:

Bailly £5.5m Manchester United

Yoshida £4.4m Southampton

COMMENTS AND CHEAPIE WATCH

Spurs – Currently Ben Davies at £4.9m offers the value here but £5.8m first choice Rose is coming back to fitness although he has a bad fitness history.  Davies will definitely lose his place if Rose can get fit.

Man City – Right from the goalkeeper to the back 4 or 3 who knows what team Pep will put out.  £5.2m LB Clichy seems the only remotely safe player given he’s played the last 7.

Southampton – £4.1m Stephens should continue to be first choice given he’s started the last 10 games.  I would still put my extra £0.3m in to Yoshida as the more experienced player but if you’re in a corner the signs are that Stephens is safe.

Arsenal – the situation is tricky here.  If Arsenal continue playing a back 3 then Gabriel at £4.8m is safe.  It’s been a few games now and reasonably successful so it’s a good bet

Liverpool – The cheapie CB saga goes on.  One of £4.8m Lovren or £4.5m Klavan will partner Matip it’s just which one. Injuries have given us no clue.

WBA – I’ve reinstated McAuley as the attacking option for WBA as he played 90 mins after the 2 bizzare 50 minute substitutions prior to that.

Leicester – with Morgan nearly fit £4.0m CB Benoloane’s time is coming to an end.

C Palace – £4.2m CB cheapie Kelly looks a good bet to continue thanks to injuries to the other CBs

West Ham – £4.2m RB Byram was suspended last week but hopefully will return after playing the last 5.  £4.2m CB Collins is a good attacking prospect but will need a back 3 to maintain his place.
