Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s our fantasy premier league player rankings GW35 forwards article. Each player is ranked as a transfer target for GW35. There’s a comprehensive spreadsheet of stats plus some commentary and their next fixtures to help you make a decision on your upcoming transfer.

This article was written before Thursday’s Manchester derby match.  Remember it’s their rank as a transfer target for this week. This can be affected by the next fixture. So a forward who’s next game is away to Chelsea will have their ranking diminished to some degree compared to someone who’s home to Swansea.

I’ve amended the format of the spreadsheet again to be more user friendly.  Here’s the link to the google spreadsheet if you want to play around with it

Here’s the spreadsheet:

Player comments

Kane

6 goals and 3 assists in his last 4 starts says it all.  Deadly on his own ground.  Underlying are good .  Also has pens.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Arsenal (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H) DGW37
Leicester (A) DGW37
Hull (A)

Aguero

Apparently winning the race to be fit for tonight’s Manchester Derby.  There is a big caveat with Aguero and that is Gabriel Jesus coming back to fitness.  He may take Aguero’s place.  However, Pep has said they could also play together although he often speaks with forked tongue.  Go in with your eyes open to this risk.  Not as explosive as previous seasons but still has scored in the last 5 PL games and has great underlying shooting stats.  Has pens.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Middlesbrough (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Leicester (H) DGW37
West Brom (H) DGW37
Watford (A)

Costa

Has been Mr consistency up until a bad run recently.  Broke that with 2 goals and an assist on Monday against Southampton.  Shouldn’t be doubted as his underlying stats largely held up over the dry run.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Everton (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
West Brom (A) DGW37
Watford (H) DGW37
Sunderland (H)

Gabbiadini

Great stats but based on a small sample of minutes comparatively with everyone else. A number of forwards at the club plus Austin coming back to fitness means he could be a rotation risk or at least a sub magnet going forward.  The manager is a natural tinkerer.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Hull (H)
Liverpool (A) DGW36
Arsenal (H) DGW36
Middlesbrough (A) DGW37
Man Utd (H) DGW37
Stoke (H)

Lukaku

The PL’s leading goal scorer with 24 goals this season.  Devastating at home and sometimes indifferent away as his and the teams performance showed at West Ham last week.  No Double gameweeks is a disadvantage at that price.  Will be desperate to prove Chelsea wrong for selling him at the weekend

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Chelsea (H)
Swansea (A)
Watford (H)
Arsenal (A)

Rashford

Huge caveat over rotation and playing time with the young forward is the main question mark.  If he starts tonight that may harm his prospects for the plum Swansea tie.  United in the Europa League semi next week doesn’t help

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Swansea (H)
Arsenal (A)
Spurs (A) DGW37
Southampton (A) DGW37
Crystal Palace (H)

Defoe

Hasn’t scored or assisted in 9 games since coming back to haunt his old manager Big Sam at Crystal Palace.  Underlying stats over that period have absolutely fallen off a cliff to match the drought.  3 really good fixtures next though are the attraction although in that blank run he has failed to score against Burnley, Watford, West Ham and Middlesboro.  Has pens and guaranteed 90 minutes at least until mathematically relegated.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Bournemouth (H)
Hull (A)
Swansea (H) DGW37
Arsenal (A) DGW37
Chelsea (A)

Vardy

Transformed his form since Ranieri left and Shakespeare took over with 6 goals and 3 assists in his last 8 games.   Difficult DGW37  though and not exactly cheap.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

West Brom (A)
Watford (H)
Man City (A) DGW37
Spurs (H) DGW37
Bournemouth (H)

Benteke

Big Sam has transformed his fortunes with 5 goals and an assist in his last 7.  Great fixture next but no DGW37 and 2 tricky fixtures in the last 3 games.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Burnley (H)
Man City (A)
Hull (H)
Man Utd (A)

Origi

On a bad run of 3 games without returning a goal or assist but stats are surprisingly good overall.  Sturridge looks like he could be out for the season and with Mane definitely out for the season his gametime looks assured. Good value for a Liverpool striker but no DGW37 is a drawback.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Watford (A)
Southampton (H)
West Ham (A)
Middlesbrough (H)

SQUAWKA UNDERLYING STATS

Here’s the 10 players underlying stats over the season.  I’ve grouped them in rough price ranges to make it easier to compare
