fantasy premier league player tips – the “eyes” have it

Fantasy Premier League

As a Geek there’s always going to be a reliance on stats rather than what you see with your eyes so here’s an attempt to balance this out.  We look at the games that were played and highlight some of the performances of the day in my view.  It’s not necessarily the best returns.  We then add on our basic stats and next 6 fixtures in case you want some info on the player for any transfer thoughts.  It maybe of some help if you were out having a meal/beer out or were forced to watch a movie instead of MOTD or wont get a chance to watch the recorded version.

I have to say I didn’t watch the early live game.  By the way this is only my view if you want to add any of your own thoughts then please do so in the comments box.  Especially if you were at or watched the live version.  Again it’s not in any order.  After each player I’ve put the following ususal stats of mine plus the next 6 fixtures.  The stats will be as follows:

Games played/ Goals/Assists

Minute per FPL points:  This is how many minutes it took to get an FPL point.  The lower the better

Consistency:  the % of games that a player returned a goal or assist. Sub appearances are counted

Lukaku

16 games/6 goals/4 assists.  FPL point every 12.9 mins  Consistency rate: 10/16 63%

The £9,1m Everton forward scored and got the 3 bonus points.  Again the amount of chances he had was astounding.  An incredible miss at the far post, an air shot plus a close call after a 1 on 1 beating Bassong.  Also put through Kone for a 1 on 1 with the GK.  How he didn’t get a hat trick is beyond me

Leicester (H)
Newcastle (A)
Stoke (H)
Spurs (H)
Man City (A)
Chelsea (A)

Sigurdsson

16 games/2 goals/1 assists.  FPL point every 27.3 mins  Consistency rate: 3/16 19%

The £7.1m Swansea midfielder played as a false 9 almost to start the game against Man City before Gomis came on. Rumours were he apparently had issues with Monk and if Monk leaving inspired him it really did look like it.  Dangerous on set pieces and had a number of chances to score.  Had the most shots, most pen box touches and chances created of any player in the game

West Ham (H)
West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)
Sunderland (H)
Watford (H)

Ighalo

16 games/10 goals/5 assists.  FPL point every 12.8 mins  Consistency rate: 10/16 63%

A goal, a chance cleared off the line and a 1 on 1 with the GK missed plus a single bonus point continued the great form of last years 20 goal £5.9m Watford forward from the championship.  Had the most chances in the box and pen box touches of any player by a mile in this game.

Liverpool (H)
Chelsea (A)
Spurs (H)
Man City (H)
Southampton (A)
Swansea (A)

Bolasie

15 games/4 goals/1 assists.  FPL point every 19.8 mins  Consistency rate: 4/15 27%

The £6.2m Crystal Palace mid came away with only an assist an no bonus after an incredible game when he was a constant threat in the game against a decent Southampton defence.

Stoke (A)
Bournemouth (A)
Swansea (H)
Chelsea (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (A)

Hennessey

C Palace 4 clean sheets  15 goals conceded 5th in premier league GCs

The £4.0m Crystal Palace GK after a series of great saves against Everton in the mid week game it was another series of great saves against Southampton. 3 saves credited and a bonus point in FPL

Stoke (A)
Bournemouth (A)
Swansea (H)
Chelsea (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (A)
