Here’s just a very quick reminder about those games which have been postponed but which have yet to be given new dates and therefore don’t appear on the fantasy premier league site. These extra games and the difficulties or otherwise associated with them are worth bearing in mind when making transfer decisions. Fantasy premier league – postponed games without new dates
Here’s the list of games that I think have been postponed but have yet to have new dates and therefore don’t appear on the fantasy premier league website
Man City v Sunderland (Weather GW26) – NOW GW34 BOTH NOW HAVE DGWS
Sunderland v WBA (Cap One Cup final?) – NOW GW37 BOTH NOW HAVE DGWS
Man City v Villa (Cap One Cup final?) – NOW GW37 BOTH NOW HAVE DGWS
Everton v Palace (weather GW26) – NOW GW34 BOTH NOW HAVE DGWS
Arsenal v West Ham (GW34 FA Cup semis) – STAYS WITHIN GW34 SO NEITHER HAVE DGWS
Man Utd v Hull (GW34 FA Cup semis) – NOW GW37 BOTH NOW HAVE DGWS
When could they be played? – UPDATED – DATES NOW CONFIRMED
If the premier league follow the rule that midweek fixtures can’t be pla yed when Champions League games are on (irrespective if those teams aren’t involved) then the only weeks that these fixtures can be allocated to are GW34 and GW37 as the rest of the gameweeks clash with the Champions League games.
That could see
GW34 Man City v Sunderland and Everton v Palace
GW37 Man City v Villa, Sunderland v WBA, Arsenal v West Ham and Man Utd v Hull
As the DGW additional fixtures.
I’ve only done this on the basis of earlier games postponed being played earlier. I have no idea if this is how they will be allocated.
What does perplex me is why they just didn’t leave the GW34 fixtures in place. Maybe thats when they would play replays if required?
Should I delay my Wildcard?
UPDATED – still preference to play WC in DGW31
It did occur to me that it maybe more beneficial to delay the wildcard to the later gameweeks when there are less teams in the double gameweek so its easier to overload your team in comparison with otherts. That would also mean the ability to sell people you wouldn’t now such as Hazard. The disadvantage of DGW31 is that most people with or without a wildcard will be able to field a near full team of DGWers. However the teams with postponements apart from WBA and Palace all have DGW31’s so I came to the conclusion that why not use it now and just forward plan for the other games. Palace and WBA are hardly the most attractive incentives for holding your wildcard
