fantasy premier league – pre season catch up

Preseason

Here’s a few fantasy premier league points from the key games of the weekend involving Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd and City

Indonesia XI 0 Arsenal 7

Arsenal: Fabianski (Martinez 68); Jenkinson (Sagna 68), Miquel, Mertesacker (Koscielny 46), Gibbs; Arteta (Zelalem 46), Ramsey (Rosicky 68), Oxlade-Chamberlain (Olsson 46); Gnabry (Podolski 68), Akpom (Giroud 68), Walcott (Eisfeld 46). Subs not used: Szczesny, Wilshere, Aneke, Ryo

Goals: Walcott 19, Akpom 54, Giroud 70, 74, Podolski 83, Olsson 85, Eisfeld 87

No Wilshire, Monreal  or Cazorla used here and obvioulsy no new players purchased so difficult to make assumptions on line ups from this.  Walcott was used aas a striker in the first half showing that was still an option in certain circumstances but Girouds 2 goals with neat finishes in 32 minutes was the highlight.  Rosicky Podolski Eisfield and Akpom all played in adavnced midfield positions

Preston 0 Liverpool 4

goals from Coutinho pen Ibe Sterling and Aspas

No Gerrard Sturridge Reina and Suarez played in this match and multiple changes so again difficult to make any line up assumptions.  Aspas played up front 2nd half with Borini up front in the first.  New signing Alberto interestingly played in the double pivot but difficult to take anything with the substitutions and the player absence at this stage.  The defence was also mixd and matched but interestingly it was potential fantasy premier league bargain £5.0m Toure who played with Agger not Skrtel so thats worth keeping an eye on.  Ibe also played well in an advanced midfield role although its hard to see him breaking through.  Coutinho took the pen although that should fall to Gerrard and Sturridge once fit.  If Rodgers plays 4-2-3-1 Coutinho and Aspas should play behind the striker.  The third player gives some scope for value with Sterling and Alberto.  If he plays 4-3-3 and Sturridge leaves Aspas and Borini represent striking value.  Coutinho seems a bit rich at a fantasy premier league cost of £9.0m

Supersport 2 Man City 0

Manchester City: Hart, (Pantilimon, 45), Richards (Facey, 45), Kompany (Boyata, 45), Garcia (Nastasic, 45), Kolarov (Lescott, 45), Barry (Rodwell, 45), Fernandinho (Huws, 45), Razak (Sinclair, 45), Suarez (Y Toure, 45 (Cole, 83)), Nasri (Milne, 45), Dzeko (Nimely, 45). 2 teams either side of half time made this difficult to assess anything along with the absence of  Aguero, Silva, Navas and Zabaleta.  Nastasic at £5.5m has some bargain potential for City but here he didnt start with Kompany which may or may not mean anything.  Silva at £9.0m in fantasy premier league is good value so it will be worth monitoring him when he plays.  Neither Fernadnho or YYT seems good value in comparison.  It seems Jovetic is on his way which is a shame because Dzeko would be a bargain at £7.5m if he plays.  He did himself no favours though with a wasteful performance by all accounts.  YYT had some injury issues after the game

Singa All stars 1 Man Utd 0

Here was the starting line up

Amos; Fabio, Ferdinand, Evans, Buttner; Cleverley, Carrick, Anderson, Giggs, Januzaj, Welbeck. Subs: Lindegaard, Rafael, Evra, Jones, Zaha, Lingard, Keane

Giggs, Cleverley and Anderson are replaced by Phil Jones, Wilfried Zaha and Jessie Lingard. and Evra replaces Fabio

No Rooney, no RVP and no Kagawa.  The only bright spots came from Belgian 18 year old Januzaj who’s unlikely to start and Zaha whos at the value price of £6.5m and worth monitoring with Ashley Young’s injury, Valencias form of last year and Nani being out of favour with SAF.

Kagawa at £8.0m behind RVP is the main alternative to RVP at the moment if he plays there instead of out on the left like SAF did.  We’ll monitor that

Those are the big games.  We’ll try and catch up with the rest
