fantasy premier league – a quick review of GW35

Fantasy Premier League

I guess everyone is already thinking about GW36 so a review of GW35 seems a little late but I thought I’d write a few words on it if for no other reason than to give others a chance to talk about their gameweek.  For me when the highlight of the gameweek is that one of your players blanks then you know it was a pretty poor week.  Unfortunately seeing Harry Kane blank after I chose Aguero as captain was the highlight and that says alot.  The article also involves a quick look forward to this gameweek

Here’s how my team ended up:

fpl..gw35teamPoints

So a pretty disappointing score considering the planning for double and blank gameweeks.  I didn’t set the team up for 11 players but ended up with 8 automatic plus 2 via a 4 point hit to make it 10.  A score of 36 against an average of 39 with a 4 point hit in a blank gameweek is pretty poor.  2 clean sheets and 1 goal from 10 players, 2 of which didn’t start is fairly damning.

After getting close to my rather poor objective of 100k at 105k to go back to 130k is certainly disappointing.  While Kane not scoring for Spurs was helpful, Spurs losing and effectively losing the title makes putting 2 single gameweek players in Kane and Walker looks a potentially bad move.

It’s hard to know where all the points came from considering the likes of Iheanacho, Hazard, Tadic and even Westwood scored braces.  Mahrez scoring 9 with his 64% overall ownership and 74% in the top 10k that probably did the damage but still it’s hard to see how that caused such a high average.

For this week I’m not sure I’m going to do a transfer.  I would rather have 2 ready for GW37 ready for 2 transfers after taking into account form and gametime in GW36.  GW37 will also be triple captain timing so having maximum flexibility for transfers with 2 will be helpful

The form of Chelsea albeit against Bournemouth was one of the interesting points.  Hazard, Pedro, Fabregas and Willian all put them selves forwards as interesting punts for the double gameweek.  The gametime of Liverpool players will also be interesting.

At the moment I’ve got 5 DGW players in Payet, Rojo, Mignolet, Lingard and Coutinho so looking for a maximum of 7 DGW players.  The likely outs are Mitrovic (although playing Villa isn’t helpful to that) and 1 other. possibly Delaney.  Payet looks only realistic triple captain option although a game against United isn’t helpful.

Thats it hope your gameweek was a little more positive but now onward and upward
