fantasy premier league – rating the defences and the best buy for each team

Here’s my rating of the defences in fantasy premier league, the best ones at the top and so on down.  Its based on the underlying shot stats and not just purely Clean sheets and goals conceded so should be helpful in predicting future clean sheets.  In addition I’ve added who I think is my best defensive choice for that team looking principally at value and game time security but where appropriate factoring in attacking prospects

1.  Manchester City  –  Nastasic £5.6m

2.  Liverpool  –  Johnson  £6.3m

3.  Arsenal  –  Gibbs £5.4m

4.  Stoke  –  Cameron £4.7m

5.  Everton  –  Jagielka  £6.0m

6.  Chelsea  –  Cole  £6.6m

7.  Manchester  Utd  –  Rafael  £6.4m

8.  Tottenham  –  Caulker  £4.9m

9.  West Ham  –  Demel  £4.0m

10  Norwich  –  R Martin £4.2m

11.  Fulham  –  Hughes  £4.5m

12.  Wigan  –  Stam  £3.8m

13.  Swansea  –  Davies  £4.0m

14. Aston Villa  –  Clark  £4.4m

15.  WBA  –  Ridgewell  £5.0m  (injury doubt)

16.  Newcastle  –  Williamson £4.3m

17.  QPR  – Nelsen  £4.0m

18.  Southampton  –  Fonte  £4.1m

19.  Sunderland  –  Cuellar  £4.6m

20.  Reading  –  Shorey £4.2m

Hope that gives some food for thought with your fantasy premier league team
