pass and position maps

Lukaku

1 Goal.  90 mins.  Reasonable goal threat.  Took his goal well.

Barkley

2 assists.  89 mins.  Started relatively deep but moved up to support Lukaku when Mirallas went off.  No goal threat but created 2 fairly straight forward assists for Davies and Mirallas.

Mirallas

1 goal.  1 assist 64 mins.  Played practically as a support striker next to Lukaku.  1 goal disallowed and good finish for the goal but didn’t have that many chances.  Great assist for Lukaku when his advanced position allowed him to get behind the defence and cross for Lukaku

Aguero

Blanked.  90 mins.  Quiet game and didn’t really have any clear cut chances

De Bruyne

Blanked.  90 mins.  Played as a LAM and looked like one of the more likely to create a goal scoring chance.  No real goal threat but did create a couple of chances.

Sterling

Blanked.  90 mins. Played in an advanced midfield position often looking to make forward runs but without any clear cut chances.  Should probably have had a penalty.

Defences

For both teams it was a game of relatively few clear cut chances.  Everton scored from their chances

MAN UTD 1 LIVERPOOL 1

De Gea Valencia Jones Marcos Rojo Darmian Carrick Herrera Pogba Mkhitaryan Martial Ibrahimovic

Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Klavan, Milner, Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Firmino, Origi

shot map

Ibrahimovic

1 Goal.  90 mins  Didn’t really have that many chances but scored when he did.  Also had a direct free kick well saved and could have also had a fluke goal from a pass back ricochet

Mkhitaryan

Blanked 90 mins.  Good advanced position as an RAM plus had some set piece representation.  Made the key pass for Pogba to have a 1 on 1 with the GK.  Should have scored or assisted when put through and squared to Martial who missed it

Pogba

Blanked 90 mins.  Didn’t play well.  Gave away the penalty and was terrible defending at set pieces.  Had 1 great chance to score when going through but otherwise little goal or assist threat

Firmino

Blanked.  90 mins.  Played as an RAM although moved centrally when Origi went off.  Was advanced but had little goal or assist threat

Coutinho

Blanked 30 mins as a sub.  Looked promising without end product.

Lallana

Blanked 90 mins.  Alot of energy and but only minimal goal threat

Defences

The game swung depending on the period of the game but Liverpool had the most chances
