Here’s our fantasy premier league team selection for DGW37. We’ll talk through the transfers, team selection and captain issues but firstly here’s the team. The transfer was Henderson out and Sunderland midfielder Larsson in.
Transfers
I was always going to throw the double gameweek dice and put in a Sunderland player for this round having already got 3 Arsenal players. Originally I had planned to put Gomez in but he collected an injury and is out for the season. I’m not sure who will pick up spot kicks to be honest but in the end I went for Larsson in midfield transferring out Henderson. I did hope to have enough cash for Benteke for GW38 after this transfer and I could have done the same transfer taking out Sterling to do this. However, in the end I decided to play this week rather than next week especially as there has to be some risk that Benteke will be rested for the FA Cup final if they are safe from relegation on the last day. I could have changed tack and changed Kane for Defoe or Wickham but Kane home to Hull just isn’t an attractive transfer out for me.
Team selection
In defence and GK, Terry, Van Aanholt and Ospina were the certainties so the debate was only about the 3rd defensive position. Liverpool home to Palace is the obvious best clean sheet possibility but with Moreno not in the side recently he becomes a sub risk if he doesn’t start. However given that Liverpool have nothing to play for and Glen Johnson looks like he will be out of Liverpool at the end of the season I thought there was a reasonable prospect of Moreno starting so I put him in the team.
No questions in midfield and up front.
The subs bench was tricky and in the end I went for Morgan on the bench due to ownership more than anything else with Duff and Albrighton next.
The captain choice
With maintaining my ranking of 3,290 and minimising any fall from that being my main objective then I went for Sanchez as captain as he undoubtedly will be the captain favourite for all the leading and active managers
