Here’s our fantasy premier league team selection article with the FFGeek team for GW29. We’ll talk through any transfers, our captain decision and any selection issues. Also a little bit of an audit for the blanks in GW33 to see where I am.

Here’s the team firstly. In the end no transfers although it did take some thinking.
Transfers
The main debate was whether I transfer out Eriksen away to Man Utd for Silva away to Burnley. I needed to take a 4 point hit but transffering out Clyne for Alderweireld would have given me the exact money for Silva. A sure sign if there ever was one. Whats more every time I’ve decided not to take a hit in similar situations I’ve got burned and more often than not the burning has come from Burnley being the opponents. To make it worse City are on TV for the 5.30pm UK time game and there’s nothing worse than watching a live game closing your eyes everytime someone you don’t have in you r team gets near goal. Particularly if the game is a siege like this could be. So queue a couple of hours stewing over this. I’ll tweet at least if I change my mind. The thing which has kept me not doing the transfer is the Barca game during the week. I can’t imagine Silva wont play but how long for is the key and give him his due Pellegrini isn’t afraid to make a substitution. I certainly don’t think he would have given up the Barca tie either so an early sub for Silva is a possibility. So no transfers for the moment
Team selection
The great thing about having Boyd as your 5th midfielder is that there is never any selection issue for the attacking players. So no issue there.
The defence was also no problem. The 3 defensive players picked themselves with home games. Clyne gets a rare benching away to Chelsea.
So the only debate was the sub order. A rare treat indeed. The Spurs defence has been pretty hopeless so Dier went to the back of the queue. I then decided that Clyne was a slightly better gamble then Boyd (who’s likely to be a safe 2 points only) for first sub position. It’s probably an irrelevant debate though as the likelihood if anyone isn’t going to play it’s Van Aanholt.
The Captain
I’m going to do a captain article next but never any question for me. Aguero all the way, form is temporary (if you call 1 assist in 2 games a form crisis like some) class is permanent and Aguero is that. Burnley are a defensive disaster and seem to have even given up trying to defend and City and Aguero especially seem to prefer playing away as they are far better on the break than trying to move the opponents penalty area bus. Aguero’s away stats bear that out.
Checking out the blank GW33 situation
So not too bad 4 players with blanks in GW33, Van Aanholt, Bellerin, Sanchez and Giroud so no panic there. I’ll use my wildcard if the postponed games go to GW34 so thats fairly straightforward.
