Firstly here’s the team.  I’m rolling the transfer over to have 2 in GW32.  £1.5m in the bank.

The transfers

Or lack of it this week.

I decided to roll the transfer over principally as I wasn’t sure that I was totally convinced about the DGW34 as being a vehicle for a wildcard and  a bench boost.  As I said earlier it all depends on whether you think losing the Spurs and Leicester players (or diluting the number of double gameweek players by keeping some of them) is worth the risk of rotation for your DGW37 players.  I’m not totally clear in my mind although it’s hard to believe that I wont wildcard in GW33

If I was going to make a transfer it would undoubtedly be Williams of Swansea  in for probably Mertesacker as Swansea are home to Villa.  However I’m in reasonably good defensive shape this week and also I can use 2 transfers for Chelsea players who play Villa in GW32.  So why committ myself now I thought.

I imagine now that Swansea will get a clean sheet and Williams the 3 bonus points for a 9 pointer so I might put a 20 quid bet on a Swansea clean sheet just to cheer me up if it does happen!

The team selection

Having Surman as your cheap midfielder means that you never have to make a decision on your attacking line up and face having big points on the bench given he’s only made 2 assists in 30 games this season.

However it does focus your mind more on defence as your back up.  I use my clean sheet tips as a way of selecting my defensive lineup.  Here’s the link to the article if you need to do yours:

So the bookies and I are aligned on defensive selection

So there are some gametime issues in defence.  With Tripper playing RB for Spurs in the Europa then Walker seems fairly certain to start against Bournemouth.  Otamendi is an injury doubt but with Kompany injured and the league and even the Champions league spot still up for grabs then I can’t help thinking he will be given every chance to play against top 4 rivals Man Utd.  Mertesacker is a defeinite rotation risk but hopefully he won’t be needed

The captain choice

There’s a captain article coming next but my feeling is to go for Kane at the moment.  Siggy against Villa as vice

What sort of week is it going to be?

Here we do a very rough rule of thumb  for the gameweek ahead by looking at the Anytime goal scoring odds and the clean shet odds from 1 bookie

postnPlayer ATGS odds Clen sheet odds
GKGomes£2.60
DEFWalker£2.25
DEFOtamendi£2.45
DEFSimpson£2.87
MIDOzil£3.40
MIDAlli£2.70
MIDMahrez£3.40
MIDSigurdsson£2.80
FWDAguero£2.05
FWDVardy£2.30
FWDKane£1.85

Key:  ATGS = Anytime goal scorer odds from one bookie

CS  = Clean sheet odds

So an average of £2.60 for both sets of odds is a reasonably good gameweek

Thats it good luck with your fantasy premier league team selection
