Here’s the FFGeek team for GW10. A difficult week where after much thought I decided not to make any transfers but the weekend will be extremely stressful for it. Here’s the team and below I’ll talk through the selection and transfer dilemmas I went through
Not really that many selection dilemmas. The team pretty much picked itself apart from the question of O’Shea vs Dummett. In the end I went for O’Shea as I thought Sunderland had the better chance of a clean sheet as well as me backing up the choice of sticking with Sterling so I decided to completely back Liverpool rather than hedging my bets. I’ve also picked Costa as captain although I’m doing a captain article next to help me make a final choice
The transfer decisions were far from easy. With Burnley concededing 12 goals in their last 3 games having no Arsenal player isn’t really the path to a peaceful weekend. Di Maria and Siggy both have tricky games next and despite my dislike of selling high ownership players, short term sales with difficult fixtures mitigates the risk. Di Maria has Man City A, C Pal H and Arsenal A. So 2 very tricky fixtures although after that they have Hull and Stoke at home. Siggy has Everton A, Arsenal H and Man City A so if there was ever a time to sell this is it. After that Siggy has C Pal and QPR at home. There’s a supplementary issue with Siggy is that I had him for GW1 so would lose £0.4m to buy him back on his current price. Those good fixtures after the 3 tough ones made me want to ride the fixtures out rather than take a 4 point hit to get in Sanchez and Moses. Sanchez has Burn H, Swa A Man Utd H and Moses has West Ham H, Spurs A and Burn H. The choice is clearly to ride it out or take the 4 point hit and plan to buy Di Maria and Siggy back after 3 games.
Unfortunately the more I write the more I’m tempted to do the 4 point hit so watch this space!
I did think about Welbeck for Pelle but he’s just in such good form and has Leicester at home after this game so there’s no way I’m selling here. I also though about losing O’Shea for Yun of QPR but Siggy’s fixtures make him an attractive sale. With Costa fit and QPR next he never was a sell option despite the incredibly annoying week by week gametime risk.
So thats where I am. I may take the hit knowing that for 3 games the high ownership players have difficult fixtures and I have 3 games to plan a team to buy them back. If I do I’ll post the team or at least tweet and facebook it
