fantasy premier league tips – an FPL team of players who didn’t go to the World Cup

Fantasy Premier League

To update my earlier article here’s a team of players who didn’t go to the World Cup and their prospects for the upcoming season and GW1.  These players have all been rested instead of playing for a month in sweltering conditions and are in the process of a full preseason.  It’s a team for ideas rather than a real team to enter by the way if that isn’t obvious.

Szczesny

Will have competition from Ospina but will start in goal come GW1.

First 6 fixtures:

Crystal Palace (H)
Everton (A)
Leicester (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)

Speroni

Good shot stopper behind a defence improved by the transfer of Hangeland

Arsenal (A)
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Burnley (H)
Everton (A)
Leicester (H)

Filipe Luis

No World Cup and as a left footed LB should be first choice

Burnley (A)
Leicester (H)
Everton (A)
Swansea (H)
Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Coleman

Only Skrtel scored more goals last season as a defender.  Rest will ensure he can keep those rampaging runs going

Leicester (A)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (H)
West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (A)

O’Shea

A strong defence and good fixtures to start.    Little attacking pedigree but does get bonus points

West Brom (A)
Man Utd (H)
QPR (A)
Spurs (H)
Burnley (A)
Swansea (H)

Ferdinand

I know he was there as a pundit btw.  The purchase of Ferdinand and Caulker plus the presence of Green in goal should give QPR a decent defence.  Just need to sort out the LB position

Hull (H)
Spurs (A)
Sunderland (H)
Man Utd (A)
Stoke (H)
Southampton (A)

Skrtel

Looks to be first choice for Liverpool and has really shown his attacking ability last season with more goals than any other defender

Southampton (H)
Man City (A)
Spurs (A)
Aston Villa (H)
West Ham (A)
Everton (H)

Eriksen

Finished the season strongly with good set piece representation.  Quetionable where he will play with Lamela showing preseason form.

West Ham (A)
QPR (H)
Liverpool (H)
Sunderland (A)
West Brom (H)
Arsenal (A)

Ramsey

Incredible season last year.  Brilliant at finding space and lethal on the counter

Crystal Palace (H)
Everton (A)
Leicester (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)

Nasri

Had a niggle which he seems over.  Did finish the season well and also won his place over Navas.  However Navas has been in excellent preseason form and may at least see him regularly subbed

Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (H)
Stoke (H)
Arsenal (A)
Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)

Siggurdson

A real goal scoring midfielder who should be the star of the Swansea team (Bony apart)

Man Utd (A)
Burnley (H)
West Brom (H)
Chelsea (A)
Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)

Arnautovic

Hopefully the pen miss in preseason wont mean the end of these.  Has free kick share as well.

Aston Villa (H)
Hull (A)
Man City (A)
Leicester (H)
QPR (A)
Newcastle (H)

Jovetic

Class player where injury and 3 other strikers limited his opportunities.  Has had a brilliant preseason so far

Newcastle (A)
Liverpool (H)
Stoke (H)
Arsenal (A)
Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)

Adebayor

Has had an issue with Malaria which may begate the World Cup benefit.  Should still be the focal point of the attack although whether the high pressing game will suit him is questionable

West Ham (A)
QPR (H)
Liverpool (H)
Sunderland (A)
West Brom (H)
Arsenal (A)

Long

Hard working striker if not exactly prolific.  Good fixtures to start with

QPR (A)
Stoke (H)
Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Man City (H)
